Nice Junkerwerk piece

Here's a 3-3/4" swell-center dogleg multi by JUNKERWERK, in Ohligs,Germany. It looks pretty old, typical German style, nice bones left high at the bolsters, dark steel pins, beautiful shield. I've had it a long time. Nice tight knife. Only one I've seen from that maker. J.O'.

Nice looking knife. Kind of interesting to have 4 blades on what appears to be a sleeveboard frame with a slight swell on the spring side?

Carter's "German Knife and Sword Makers" lists Junkerwerk as being affiliated with Linder & Co. I assume that Junkerwerk was either the location in Ohligs, or the name of the factory?? Linder & Co. was founded in 1887 and was registered in 1909. Carter lists them as being in Junkerwerk, Ohligs bei Solingen in 1914; Solingen-Merscheid, Junkerstrasse 30 in 1939 - 1970; and Martinstrasse 32 in 1986 -98.

If you do an internet search for "junkerwerk, germany", there are quite a few images of knives with that stamp that come up.

Thanks all, especially Danno. I know 'Werk" in German implies "shop" or "making" so it all makes sense. I think I read somewhere that Ohligs is across the river from Solingen? I don't have a lot of German knives. I found this one about 15-20 years ago and it "spoke" to me. Just a pretty touch of old European style. Looks like an early one. Great shield! Very nice love my JUNKerwerks. Leverlock shell puller was my 1st Junkerwerks and 2nd leverlock shell puller. Notice the crossed maces on the show side tang.

Found my second, nice JUNKERWERK , Solingen knife today in Melfa, on Virginia's Eastern Shore. A 3-1/8" brass Gent's knife. Oddly the secondary was actually twisted and it's tip badly bent. (So much for hardness and temper. ????). It felt a bit pliable and I was able to unbend and untwist it very slowly and carefully, all the while expecting it to snap but, it's fine now. The knife is otherwise in pristine condition, substantial brass scales and "rostfrei" blades.

-past 40 years supplying specialized foam products to the auto industry.Also products for: sports, construction, and medical technology. Still based in Solingen. J.O'.
