However, I saw one of your sheath's for sale in your AAPK store, for 1 million dollars. That has got to be some very exotic rare leather you're using.

Yep one of a kind.
What that post is about is just to let folks know I do custom sheaths. Once we talk I can create a listing for that person for the actual cost. Couldnt find any other way to do it. But wanted folks to know I will make custom work.

Made 3 more up today. Green is a mystery lace wasnt labeled. The dark colored on is goatskin lace and the mix is calf again.

Re: Corner of Lanyard Lane & Sheath Street
I carry the same 3 knives, to the ranch, every weekend. A SAK, a Leathermans and a Benchmade Triage. The nylon sheaths were wearing out.
I have a fire truck...it no longer works...but, that's a story for another time. I had some fire hose (not from the truck) that I once thought about making a wallet with...but, that didn't happen.
These can't compete, with the fine leatherworks, of those that have preceeded...but, I'm happy with these prototypes. There are a lot of things I would do different. But, they are pretty sturdy. If you click on them...they will upright.

Now THAT is some special ingenuity right there, DocB.
Those fire hose sheaths won't wear out anytime soon. Way to 'think outside the box'.

Re: Corner of Lanyard Lane & Sheath Street
I just picked up a few feet, off Ebay, a few years ago. I'd seen someone make a wallet out of it and thought I'd give it a try. I don't carry a wallet now, so never got around to trying. I don't know if all firehose is the same...but; the piece I got has an inner and outer hose. The inner one is rubberized on the inside. It makes for a more "grippy" sheath. Of course that can make it harder to put the knife in. I made these out of the outer, non-rubberized part and made the belt loop, out of a piece of the rubberized part...oriented to reduce sliding around on my belt.jmh58 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 04, 2020 11:49 pmCool..Doc B wrote: ↑Fri Dec 04, 2020 6:35 pm I carry the same 3 knives, to the ranch, every weekend. Great idea Jim! I bet that stuff is strong as heck! Probably pretty close to indestructible!

I made this knife years ago and use it myself. Decided to do this new lanyard for it. The braid part I've got down but the sliding knot I'm still learning.
Figured you folks might like a look.

Recieved a few more patriotic fabrics from my Mom to add to the ones Jim already sent to me so that I can make some patriotic knife slips. Gonna try to get some cut out today so that my girls can sew em together for me over the upcoming holidays.
