Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
Trying to lighten the weight with my EDC, but still cover most of my bases.
Really liking the Case Sodbuster Jr. It's a compact, but sturdy folder.
The SAK is the Victorinox Golfer, which hasn't been made in several years. It's similar to the current Compact, except there's a divot repair tool in place of the combo tool (can opener, bottle opener, screwdriver). I wasn't paying $35 for a USED Compact, when I got this one for $15 shipped. The divot tool does make a good poking and prodding thingy, however.
The LKL Innovations Swiss Tech is the original made in USA variant, not the current import made out of cheese. You can cut basically any wire with it and not hurt the tool (the current China-made one chipped on rebar tie wire). The screwdrivers are also better machined, and the pliers grip better.

Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
Thanks. All it has is
ELDER MFG. CO.
ST LOUIS
U.S.A.
That's all I know and I doubt they are still being manufactured. Haven't ever seen another and picked it up because it was almost pristine and in fabulous condition, great bone color, and for a Stockman the lowest profile blade configuration when closed of any I have ever had or seen. Never heard of the name either, to me some cache' in that alone. Plus great quality knife, like a Case or Schrade or Pal or something, looks about like 1960 or 70s to me, but that's just a guess. Couldn't find much on the company or when they quit putting their name on them, or who made them for Elder. Paid very little and for some reason it didn't get many bids. Stole it in my book. And this is the epitome of why I like old or obscure knives. Like Gump said, "like a box of cholocates, you never know what you're gonna get." Sometimes you score way better than you thought and this was that kind.

A great unique knife! I love adding knives like your ELDER to my collection that are great quality but not so well known. You made a good find on this one!Ivoryman wrote: ↑Fri Nov 13, 2020 12:45 amThanks. All it has is

Ahhh, St. Louis. That's what I couldn't make out.
(Went through 13 weeks of OSUT in Fort Leonard Wood Missouri in the winter time.)
That was a very nice score! Gotcha a beautiful knife! Congrats! And thanks for the Info.
