First Annual "Secret Santa" Knife Exchange...

Post by WillyCamaro »

Howdy folks.
Been thinking about doing this for a long time now, what it is you may ask?
It is AAPK's first annual "Secret Santa" knife exchange. We usually have the "POS" exchange in spring/summer, this is a lot like that.
Except, instead of junk/user/parts knives, you gift nice knife. Basically the saintly version of the "POS' :D .
Here's how it works, and the rules for taking part;
1. Submit your name forward by replying to this topic (must be a member in good standing, with at least 25 posts to their name).

2. Each entry will be added to a hat, and randomly drawn on December 1st (I will not enter myself, to keep things fair).

3. At no time will any one person know, who is sending them a gift, only too whom they will be sending.

4. Signing up for the exchange will run from November 15th, to the 30th. Gift must be in the mail by December 31st, exception made for circumstances.

5. No limit on how many knife/knives you may send, and no value cap. Would like to keep it, up-too $100 value, a knife, but not hard/fast rule.

6. Open to any member, from anywhere in the World (Are Canadian/Aussie/Bulgarian friends are more then welcome :D ).

7. And finally, have fun!

🤔 Why "gift has to be in the mail by December 31?" Wouldn't we want the gift to show up prior to Christmas? Not that it matters that much to me, sign me up! ::handshake::

Nice of you to think of me Buddy! ::super_happy:: I'd love to take part in this, however, the price of packages from here to the US has gone up from about $20 to about $60 due to Covid & the lack of planes flying back & forth. I'll be out & about later so I'll stop by the post office and ask if anything has changed or not but I expect them to say Not. ::facepalm:: Probably just have to sit this one out again. :( Hope the world gets back to normal soon. ::pray::

Off to the fabric store, talk to ya later friends,

So here's the deal Willy. I went to the post office today & asked but packages to the US still cost $60 & will continue to cost that much for some time. ::td::

But..., small packages within Europe only cost me €9 to send. So, if there are any other European members who wish to take part in this & would like to or wouldn't mind to exchange with another member in Europe instead of with someone stateside, I'd be in. ::tu:: ::nod::

If there aren't any other European members who want to take part & exchange with someone in Europe then I'm out. ::shrug::

Hope someone else in Europe is willing to take part. Sounds like fun! ::nod:: ::super_happy::

Yessir Mike, i'll be pm-ing everyone for there addresses, and letting everyone know who they have to send too. Yes, you put your return address on the package, you just don't tell the person your sending them. Only when the get the gift, they will know who sent it.
Hope that clears it up ::tu:: .
