You have a point there, good eye. Man are those close. Great looking knife, at first glance I thought it was an older Queen made Northwoods Gladstone, Mich era Slimline Trapper.

Well, to be completely honest...I no longer collect Slimline Trappers like I once did (and I've never collected Robeson knives), but it was the arrowhead shield on this Robeson Slim Trapper that made me decide to buy the knife. I know that to some people buying a knife specifically for the shield may seem like a crazy, stupid, ridiculous, etc., reason, but knives "call out" to collectors for many different reasons and I've purchased many knives throughout my years of collecting for more "trivial" reasons than a shield.

I actually thought it was Stag when I first saw it on eBay.

Amen, but doesn't sound crazy to me. Bought many for strange reasons like shields, bones, company names etc. Some just to give away.QTCut5 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 08, 2020 5:28 am Well, to be completely honest...I no longer collect Slimline Trappers like I once did (and I've never collected Robeson knives), but it was the arrowhead shield on this Robeson Slim Trapper that made me decide to buy the knife. Just got back from the Post Office, was informed by the lady how flat out busy they are with everyone buying online, and if i want anything from overseas this year i would have to purchase today, crazy times. Any way this was there to greet me, really nice solid well made work knife, not GEC quality, but just solid.

I just got these in from our own Eric Albers (EA42). For those that don't know, he has started Albers Cutlery Company, and is putting out single blade folders, similar to the size of the boys knives. He's doing some outstanding work, and I can't wait to see him branch out with some different patterns.

Thanks, last night i spent half an hour giving them a clean and a polish. You would not believe the gunk that was in the wood from the factory, but by the time i finished has a beautiful sheen. I will see if i can get a photo that shows the difference, but mat be hard. As you would know, in the hand can look a lot difference to a photo. But thanks for the comments.

I like you, cannot wait to see his future work and patterns. And yours are just so good, i really like that orange bone, if that is what you would call the color. Well done.glennbad wrote: ↑Mon Nov 09, 2020 8:12 pm I just got these in from our own Eric Albers (EA42). Mate, these are 2 photos i took after i gave it a polish last night, hard to see the difference in the photos, but not in the cloth i used. This is a 2x2 inch piece of cotton with all the gunk on it both sides, this is from the factory out of the box, amazing.cudgee wrote: ↑Mon Nov 09, 2020 9:40 pmThanks, last night i spent half an hour giving them a clean and a polish. This came in my mail box today. Another addition to my Camillus 72 Clone Family. A McGrew Arkansas U.S.A. Swell Center Whittler, with original box and papers. Here are photos of it as it came out of the shipping box. Tight blades with no wobble, no cracks in the handles, and beautiful snap. I will be posting this in the Camillus 72 clone thread.
