Case XX Mint Set ID Help Request
Case XX Mint Set ID Help Request
Hello fellow knife a Holics!
Have a new one for you guys to identify if you choose to play. (Please play!) I don’t know what the year is or anything else about the set; I’m not sure if o want to crack it open to see the full tang stamp.
Any help would be appreciated, God Bless and Stay Free!
Chris

Better not open that one. If that is actually the first set of 250 I think it has more value unopened. The factory could probably shed some light on the year it was made. Thanks

These were issued in very limited numbers. A friend of mine has one and has been waiting for one like his to sell on Ebay so he could get an idea on value. This isn't what you have but is the closest I see in completed items that actually sold. Keep looking one will come up.

Re: Case XX Mint Set ID Help Request
This set from 1996 is series II and one of the first 5 limited edition XX knife sets from the late 90s. Each series had 10 knives of the same pattern with different bone handles and shields. I have sold a few of these sets on Ebay for $900 "buy it now".
Series I - Smooth antique bone
Series II - Green jigged bone
Series III - Butternut jigged bone
Series IV - Pitch black jigged bone
Series V - Royal blue jigged bone

Re: Case XX Mint Set ID Help Request
Thanks to all of you, it's much appreciated.
Quick Q to knifeaddict1965 - You said this was a series II but I see that no where on any of the knives or the display. Are you sure, and so I may be educated, may I ask how you made that conclusion? Thanks!
I continue to be impressed by the quality and range of knives Case makes. We will definitely save some choice ones for ourselves to hold onto, but at least in selling the rest of my late Father in Law's collection, it's at least quite interesting. Not to mention just seeing some of these knives up close is like going to an art gallery. Ok.... for us deplorables, but it IS art.
Again thank you all SO much for your (hopefully continuing) help and God Bless!

Adapptiv, I see you've listed this set on the bay. You must have taken knifeaddict1965's word regarding what Series and year he stated. Good luck on your endeavor, it's a nice set and a Case collector's desire, I'm sure.

Going by the number on the blade(054) that appears to be set 54 of 2500.Providing of course Case manafactured 2500 sets& the other knives in your set are numbered likewise. Is the display sealed?
