Unknown (to me) horseshoe tang stamp

I have both looked in the tang stamp charts and run a search on "horseshoe" and come up with nothing that is just like this, so here goes:

I am considering a knife that has only this tang marking. It looks like it has a stainless handle, and advertises a hardware shop in South America. I'm trying to discern where the knife was made (as so many older advertising knives are purchased from elsewhere--in Canada, most of them are from the UK; in much of Europe they're from Germany (as far as I can tell)...but this has only the horseshoe. Does anyone recognize this?

Goin's lists 2 Horseshoe stamps

T Drysdale & Co (c1885) and Utica Cutlery Co (c1929) but I do not think they match your example.

It is similar to a stamp on a large fixed blade(possibly a cut down machete)a friend of mine had many years ago.We tried to research it but had no luck at all. The pommel looked for all the world like a KA-BAR dogs head and the stamp(in the guard)was a horseshoe with the letters SA inside it.The horseshoe looked as though it formed the U in USA. Here ia a pic of the stamp and the knife.The blade was about a foot long.

It does look somewhat similar, except the "SA" inside, which, I agree, makes one think it is meant to represent "USA".

I also find it interesting that the horseshoe on the knife I'm looking at is open-end-down, which to some people signifies that all the luck is "running out".

The dog's head pommel is cool!

You know I hadn't thought about that when we were trying to find out who made the machete but it certainly sounds plausible.
