The Case 6207 you originally posted is a beautiful mini trapper that certainly deserves to be shown in this thread. Please consider re-posting it so we may all continue to enjoy seeing it.

Remember posting this gorgeous Case XX 6207 back a few years ago in the Mini TrapPER DIEM thread?
Well, I'm currently doing a little Mini Trapper Timeline Project in the ODE To The 07 thread ( viewtopic.php?f=66&t=52911&start=1140 ) with the goal of documenting the evolution of the Case 07 pattern from the Tested era up thru today (100 years). I just started documenting the XX era 07 and was hoping I could convince you to post a photo of your 6207 from that era (you could even post the same photo if you still have it). Yours has some of the nicest bone I've ever seen on a 07 from that era and I'd really like to have it shown on the timeline.
If it's not too much trouble I would really appreciate it and know that other Mini Trapper fans would love to see it again.
Thanks for considering my request.
PS--Should you ever want to sell it, please keep me in mind...I would love to have a knife like that in my collection.

Q, I added a photo of that knife to your other thread. That was the only photo I could find of that particular knife. My 07 is a family piece, as it belonged to my grandfather's brother. When he died, my father was given the knife. Later, my father gave it to me and my son will inherit it next. Thanks for your interest in my knife.QTCut5 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 16, 2020 9:13 pmAloha Jtx,Jtx wrote: ↑Thu Sep 06, 2018 9:12 pmOK, here it is again. Right on. Thanks for showing it again...it's a real beauty for sure. (I'd consider being adopted by you if it meant you'd bequeath that 07 to me in your will ahead of your real son!

Funny you should mention that John. I recently had to buy another storage folder because I've run out of room, not for 07s but for the crap knives I keep acquiring. I am pathetic.

John, when you piddle away your budget on knives that really don't ring your bell and then something you want comes along but you don't have the money from all those piddly knives then they become crap knives.jmh58 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 17, 2020 1:42 pmjerryd6818 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 17, 2020 1:39 pm Funny you should mention that John. Glad to know I'm not the only one who does that.
Actually, in my case, the best and surest way to have a knife I really want show up for sale is for me to blow my entire knife budget on "crap" knives first....it never fails.

From September 23, 2020 to October 9, 2020 I acquired these four CASE XX, Orange County Choppers mini trappers. One is a 2004 and three are from 2005. Three have the tins, one doesn't.

Skip may eschew the royal title of "King," but there's no denying that my Mini TrapPER DIEM for today is a Queen.

1980's era Queen single-blade model #51 with Winterbottom
[/quote]
Morning Q, thanks for showing us that Queen, and for all the history info you’ve been sharing with the history lessons.
Question , how can you tell real winterbottom from not real. Traded. a couple of Queens to Treefarmer a while back and he shared a few things about Queen but have no idea how to tell the diff.
Is real winterbottom prone to cracking ,shrinking,? Don’t have but a couple of newer Queens, and not a collector of them ,but in my travels am always looking for any knife ,even if it’s something that someone else collects, and get it for them.
In short , what’s a way for a person to tell the difference.
Thank you

Treefarmer is definitely a much better authority on this topic. I'm certainly no expert on Winterbottom and I will admit that it's not always easy to distinguish genuine Winterbottom Bone from Delrin, especially just by looking at photos. Get a Bone and a Delrin in hand, however, and the difference is usually pretty clear. After you've seen and held a number of examples of each, you develop an eye and a feel for which is which.
Winterbottom Bone is usually seen more on older knives and Delrin is more common on later year models...but, that's not ALWAYS the case.
For more info on Winterbottom and to see some very nice examples of genuine Winterbottom Bone, check out this thread:

We seemed to run out of steam on this thread but for the time being, I have one more snort of the old engine.
This one came in yesterday's mail and as I mentioned in a couple of other posts, I like it a lot.
(I do have one on backorder)
