Levering A1 Knife Co, New York, little is known about them, thought to be 1890 to 1930. Very well made knife, was comparing it to other knives in my collection and looks like it could be made by Challenge.

Found this one at the fleamarket today.
E. WILD & SONS (Ebenezer Wild) , 2 1/8" long Wharncliffe Congress pen with horn handles, dates to the 1850's.

When I first met Jim Sargent at a knife show in 1988, he had a massive Levering A-1 bone handled four blade Congress pattern.
Every time I saw that knife, thereafter, I wanted it, but it was pricey.
Still the largest Congress I have ever seen.

Here's a 3-1/4", circa-1860, Sheffield-made: CORSAN, DENTON, BURDEKIN, bare head jack. 2 blades (one broken) white bone scales, iron liners, rat-tail bolsters. It's rough but it exists. Old knives make us wonder where they've been and how they got to us. Can't remember where I got it, yard sale, flea market? I've had it for at least 25 years. The photo perspective makes the blade look shorter than it is. It's actually 2-3/4 " long. Ever seen or heard of C.D.B ? J.O'.

IXL GEORGE WOSTENHOLM SHEFFIELD. No "England" to be found, so this knife is older than 1891. I think this is my oldest folder. I have a Green River fixed blade wallpaper knife that could be a bit older; but this is the only one that I can say for sure how old it is. It was a surprise, as the two Wostenholms this one came with in the same lot weren't really that old, perhaps the 1950s or 1960s. A four-blade, but I have chosen to open only one blade. One is broken off, however.

Handles are presumably tortiseshell, the real stuff.

Long pull--both pull and swedge appear to be hand-cut. The brown stuff doesn't appear to be rust, and I'm a bit worried about trying to get it off. This is an irreplaceable knife--not like basically any of my others that are common knives rarely newer than 80 years old. Any suggestions?

Just got this in the mail.It's hard to read the tang, but can make out a couple letters.
Ward & Co Bronx ville NY , 2 1/4" Ivory quill knife.

That’s a rare one, nice pickup

Just acquired this recently. A VALLEY FORGE, 2 blade, 3 3/16" closed, pocket knife. Each blade has a tang stamp, one more legible than the other. The "VF" in a double circle stamp, is on the handle on each side of the pocket knife.

I have been hoping to add a decent Kane Cutlery for a long time, since that company morphed into Hollingsworth, this will do. The bone/patina is awesome and it feels great in the hand!
