Colonel, glad for your input on Henckles. My limited experience with them has been excellent. As i understand it, Henckles are generally made by Boker in the Olbertz factory. I've heard it suggested that the specifications on the Henckles are a bit higher than for the standard Bokers.

That’s what I understand too. Like a dummy I traded mine off for something I just thought I had to have at the time. The sad part is I don’t even remember what that thing was, but I still miss the Henckles.Quick Steel wrote: ↑Fri Oct 16, 2020 2:50 pm Colonel, glad for your input on Henckles. That, imo, is a wonderful example of how beautiful materials can come together to make a knife that is not too flashy, but can work together and still make a bold statement. Well done!Montanaman wrote: ↑Fri Oct 16, 2020 2:28 pmThanks! I have always wanted to handle a Thor, Fallkniven knives are great.
Snow melted off, but more to come. Spending the day with my ladies, my personnel carry with me today. Mike and I designed this knife, forged DHIII W2 with hamon and high polish, I had Mike Sakmar forge the 1/4 in thick mokume gane, Mike Craddock forged the "explosion" damascus for the butt cap and guard. Nice piece of Walrus ivory. Larry Parsons made the sheath for me.

I usually only carry one knife on me but today I carried two.
Yesterday, my loving wife surprised me with not one, but two new switchblades.

BEFORSE, I have no switcblades but both of yours have appeal. I think I particularly favor the design of the Microtech.

For years, I have been exclusively collecting vintage and antique knives. These are the first, and only, new style knives that I have.Quick Steel wrote: ↑Fri Oct 16, 2020 10:25 pm BEFORSE, I have no switcblades but both of yours have appeal. I think I particularly favor the design of the Microtech.
I also have a good collection of antique straight razors that I use. That being said I know when an edge is sharp; that microtech came out of the box as sharp, if not sharper than a straight razor. I kid you not.

Consider yourself lucky, some wives don't buy their husbands knives, or cool ones like that.

Thanks, I love this knife, one of my favorites and it really feels like MY knife. It is a pleasure to carry. Nice MT OTF, I have always wanted a OTF. There is a well known custom OTF maker here in Conner, MT named Jeff Harkins, someday I am going to visit him and have him make one. Here is a pic of his work,

Everybody seems to like that ole imp. Wish I had thousands of them I'd just send one to all my aapk brothers and sisters.

Today is a Ka-bar day: a 1100 stock knife and a 1110 cattle knife. The quality on these is excellent.
