I would like to publicly acknowledge a very kind favor I recently received from an AAPK brother who apparently prefers to remain anonymous. They know who they are and they know what they did and I am profoundly grateful for their generosity. The kindness and camaraderie here never ceases to amaze and uplift me. A true blessing in my life. ::nod::

I send my deepest gratitude to you, my fairy godmother. (LOL! Godparent) ::handshake::

Not really a true "Bomb" because I forewarned of the incoming projectile.

There are two jars of Horseradish treats from Switzerland. Can't wait to sample them, one is Apricot and the other is Pear tu::

The Carl Rader pen knife is absolutely beautiful with perfect MOP handles with a wonderful
shield in near mint condition ::super_happy::

The gentlemans knife has attached to it a custom handmade lanyard made by the world renowned lanyard maker Thomas DeVore of Germany. Extremely rare and highly sought after in the United States. I'm privileged and honored to have one in my possession ::super_happy::

Hats off to you Tom ::handshake::

Niiiiice Bomb!! well done Tom.

Congrats on being the target, Ken. I urge you to exercise extreme caution when sampling the enclosed condiments though, as anything made with horseradish may end up being the real bomb in this package and explode your taste buds upon contact ! ::lightening::

My wife called me a "stubborn mule" this morning when I told her I wouldn't go grocery shopping because I was feeling a little "blue". :|

Turned on AAPK and saw I had a PM from jerryd--just a USPS tracking number, nothing else. ::hmm::

Looked it up on the USPS tracking website and discovered that it had been delivered to my PO Box on Monday. ::suspense::

Ran back upstairs to tell wife that suddenly I felt like going into town after all. ::uc::

Imagine my shock when I saw what jerryd had sent me.

I received a padded manila envelop Saturday, return address said it was from Worksharp in Oregon. Before opening it I could feel the envelop had something in it. It was puzzling because I hadn’t ordered anything from Worksharp recently. Thought to myself “oh no, they’re sending me a replacement for some defective part of my sharpener!”

So I opened it and found this:
05D2B652-5820-471F-AEA4-399CF82D36FF.jpeg
No note, no invoice, nothing but the micro-sharpener. Did they send it to me free just because I bought and registered a Worksharp Guided Sharpening System? Nah, not likely. So my only guess is that some anonymous kind soul here at AAPK bestowed it on me. ::shrug:: If so, whoever you are thank you thank you thank you! ::ds::

Looks like a real handy pocket-sized tool. It has a diamond sharpening rod, a ceramic sharpening rod, and three different sizes of Torx screw drivers, which I needed. ::tu:: Once again the generosity of AAPK members astounds me!

Nifty neato. Before you got one, were you aware of their existence, Ken. I'm a bit of a gadget guy and it's a first for me. Looks like it would be as handy as a pocket on a shirt. It appears that we have a phantom random gifter lurking on the forum. Good on you Phantom Gifter and congratulations Target Ken.

I received one of these with a knife I won from a Knife Magazine drawing.

I watched the video on the Worksharp site before using mine. It shows how to hold it steady and move your blade across the rods, to take advantage of the built-in angle guides.

Then I watched an independent-made YouTube video about it. The moron who made that video said you should hold the knife still in one hand and move the sharpener along the blade edge, using the other hand. He didn’t even mention using the angle guides. I don’t think he ever bothered to read the directions that came with it! ::dang:: Still, he said he recommended it. Be careful what you see on YouTube - idiots abound there also. ::facepalm::

Even though you may know the bomb is coming, sometimes you don't realize how big the explosion is going to be!

Who? What? When? Where? Why?

Yesterday Mike Xx Case xX hit me with not one but three knives! A Bear and Sons Carbon 4th Generation stockman, a Case 6347HP stockman dressed in delrin, and Kissing Cranes' version of a Sod Buster.

Most know, as Mike does, my preference for stockmans. What he didn't know is that lately, due to a recent thread about the Sod Buster, I have been wondering why I didn't have one and if I should get one to try it out. Well, now I have one. Fits well in the hand, good walk and talk, and as the accompanying paperwork said, "...honed to a razor's edge..."
20201017_085611.jpg
20201017_085740.jpg
The only thing I haven't covered is the "why." Why me? I have no idea. All I do know is Mike is one of the finer representatives of the generous folks here at AAPK.

Thanks again, Mike!!

P.S. Got the Sod Buster in my pocket today. 😁
Take care and God bless,
