So, here I was again, looking through my upright rolling toolbox for a tool...and I come across this find. I have no idea where this knife came from or how long it's been in the toolbox getting rusty.

It's a 2004 Schrade Badger SP3 w/partial serrated blade. If my research on this knife is correct, it appears this is one of the last knives Schrade made in its factory before they closed in July 2004, Ellenville, NY. It has "100th / 1904 - 2004" etched on the blade. I know it's not worth a whole lot, but I got me a nice user anyway. It's always exciting to 'find' something you didn't know you had.

Found a few this weekend,Western , Harvey Bros pearl whittler, AW Bradshaw Austria deer hoof lockback , unmarked fixed blade and a Barracuda fishing lure box

Great finds, Knifegnome...that Western is in pretty good shape, but that unmarked fixed blade has a lot of life left to it and will probably clean up nicely.

Nice one! I've been meaning to pick up a partially serrated SP-3. I have a PE Craftsman variant I use a lot. Those serrations cut rather well. I've been using the Cliphangers for them, but they, in my opinion, are really cheaply put together.

Guys,
I picked up this older Puma this past weekend at the show. It was the only purchase I made all weekend.
It is a model 270 with stag handles. Manufacturing date was July 1984. Small sharpening scratches and one little blade hickey that likely will not show in the photos. Also the stamp is very light and will not show. Still, a very nice Puma and it can be yours for the mere amount of $140. Comes with a 'custom' leather sheath.

Hair cut today, asked Miss Joy to go with me as there are 2 antique stores, one on either side of the barbershop up in the next town to the north. Well I was gettin' my ears lowered, she comes in an says, "Both stores are closed, open on Wednesday." So on the way back to our town she suggests we go to the antique mall in our town.
She's looking for an amber glass butter dish, I'm lookin' for knives. She roams around, I go to a booth that has produced before and find the little rotisserie with trays was out of whack. The flood related to Hurricane Sally (14 inches) had flooded the old supermarket building, lots of things out of place, etc. Back to the front and the owner said, "Look over here, I've held these back for you to see." Hmmmmm, 3 Case knives, one price. The 3318 CV is well worn, the Case XX-Changer has a blade that has never seen a whet rock and the Copperhead 61549L lock-back is used. I didn't want the 18 and I don't like the looks of the Changer so I asked what would it take to buy the Copperhead? The price was 1/3 of the total, made my purchase and headed home. I got home and started looking at what I had purchased and got to thinking about the Changer. After going through ebay a bit, I realized I need to go back and see if the deal was still good. It was, so I'm now the proud owner of a pretty nice 2001 Changer with only one blade and a well used 3318. going to see how hard it might be to find the other 3 blades for the Changer. It looks like good trading material for some one who likes that pattern, it doesn't thrill me, kinda like a Russlok in appeal.

Decided to hit one of the many "community yard sales" before I got my first delivery for UE and bumped into this little gem...

2000 CASE 82132 in pristine condition....

My fleamarket visits are starting to produce some knives. Found a Case XX 06244 red bone ,a rough cubscout and a Wharncliffe pen about 2 1/8" long with horn handles marked E. Wild & Sons (Ebenezer Wild) that dates about 1850's ,pen blade broken.

Took a trip to the local antique shop where they are still selling my friend Dave's knives and picked up these three. A Wm. Frankfurth cattle green celluloid, a Big Coke bottle ebony stamped Buhl Sons Co. Detroit Mich., probably made by Ulster, and a Joseph Allen sailors stag with the marlin spike.____Dave

Nice finds. Gotta love those old ebony Coke Bottles.

Picked this one up today to add to my Craftsman family. A Craftsman 9473 Junior Stockman. 2-3/4 inches closed with jigged delrin handles. The blades are tight with good snap, no wobble. They are stained but still have some of the original luster.

It Needed a little cleaning, as its had some light chalk oxidation in the handles. Cleaned and gave a mineral oil bath, then flushed with wd-40 and blew out with light compressed air. Added some Mequire's PlastX plastic polish to a lint free towel and polished the handles. Wiped the blades down and oiled the joints.

You guys are lucky to have such productive flea markets. Here in B.C. there are very few flea markets or antique type stores and i have ever only found old Chinese knives at these places. Seems like Canadians of past generations rarely owned pocket knives ?

I've got a small collection of what I like to call "Buck competitors" that are lockbacks released just a few years after the Buck 110 & 112, and about the same size. I don't have the XX-Changer (I almost bought a Caliber variant, but then I discovered the original Buck 428 Selector from 1990, which I need to buy blades for--it's just got the slipjoint folding 110 blade, and no removable blades). The worst looking, and feeling is the Case Mako, which is a similar handle as the XX-Changer. The butt end of the handle is pretty pointy, and jabs my hand when I use it.

I'll take the 3318 off your hands if you want to get rid of it. I can always use a good quality work beater. They might look like heck, but beat Chinese any day for hard, dirty jobs.
