2" x 72" Grinding Belt Suppliers

I visited a new (to me) grinding belt supplier today. I put 12 assorted belts in my cart with the intent on buying them. However when I got to the checkout I noted that the shipping and handling was $15. Now don't get me wrong, I can appreciate the cost of shipping and handling is going up but $15 for a handful of grinding belts seemed a little extreme. When I emailed them to let them know that their S&H charges seemed a little out of line I received a snarky, condescending e-mail letting me know that their shippers were not non profit organizations.
I continue to vote with my wallet. Online vendors aren't doing me a favor by selling me their products and those who seek to inflate their profit margins by inflating their shipping and handling charges don't deserve my business. This is no different than the E-Bay sellers who want to sell a knife for $10 but then want $15 to ship it (and of course you receive the knife in a padded envelope).
Luckily we live in a time when shopping online requires very little effort so its easy to weed out the companies who don't deserve our business.
No problem for me, I gave my business to another company who offered a considerably lower S&H charge for the same order.
Certain companies are just clueless.

A lot of companies in the modern era could do well in taking some courses in customer relations.

Jantz would be my first place to look for supplies...however, at 11.95...I make it my last...unless I can't find it elsewhere. I was unable to find the right size Nicklesilver rod, in the right size, anywhere else. It doesn't cost $12 to ship six pieces of wire.

I agree wholeheartedly. Jantz has everything I need but their ridiculous S&H charges keep me from ordering from them more often. Its a shame really because if the S&H charges were more reasonable I'd shop there regularly.

One of my favorite sources for sanding belts is Tru-Grit.
They carry a wide variety of abrasives on the belts, from aluminum oxide,, silicon carbide, Zirconia,Trizact A/O and
ceramic belts. They also carrying a wide variety of sizes and other knife making products.

I would be sure to send that original company that you did not order from an email telling them where you bought the same product for less and the difference in shipping policies. You have to hammer on their heads WHY they are losing your business. Many companies pad their bottom line with exorbitant shipping that is well beyond their costs.
