Poor Layla, she had a rough day today barking at the birds out the window and napping...she chased the ball 7/8 times and now the poor girl is tired!.. two years ago she'd fetch it 30 times before she took a water break and would be ready for more!!

DJ had a bit of a rough day, too. Had a bit of a tussle with this one...but, he prevailed..

Sissy has pain medication and anti- anxiety medication along with her antibiotics and lotion to put on the sore that developed because of the cast, but she still ain't real proud of the cone. She wants to lick the sore something fierce. As I've told the tale before She's kinda the neighborhood dog, her owner passed recently and the boss and I kinda adopted her after she got hurt.. She always been an outside dog and as independent as a hog on ice. She always went where she wanted when she wanted, so this being couped up in the house is new to her but has adapted better than I would've ever believed. She is just so darn smart. Last picture is her before she was hurt, then as you come up her first, second, and third cast. The latest is in the other photo.
Ken I'm looking forward to the day and I'm sure she is too. I really want to see what she does when she not on a leash. She never hung around my house over a couple of hours at any one time, she'd generally get a treat and petting then take off. She loves attention.
Will she return to her routine or stay around here more? Only time will tell.

Not this time. I interrupted her. Just after I took her picture she climbed/jumped down and went arrogantly on her way, as cats will do. She catches a lot of field mice , and an occasional bird . One night she had cornered a frog but I rescued it before she did it any harm (no doubt she scared the poor thing though).

You're like me, unless it's a mouse- I hate to see an animal hurt..I've had a toad living on my front porch all year..I ignore it and so does Layla.. he seems happy eating the dead bugs that fall from the porch light..
