Re: Knife Photography
Just playing around with some photos from our trip last fall.
The knife is the one that Dale just finished. No I didn't take the
picture, not in a hundred years.

Parker Cut Co. with what appears to be pink or red abalone, made in Japan. Not a knife I would normally care for, but it was a gift.

Coool I-Man! I've been wanting to make stuff like that out of antlers. Sure wish I could just "stop by" and take some lessons from you.

Re: Knife Photography
If you're ever up here in the N.West, let me know, I'll show you my tricks. I do antler too, here are some whistles and little men ready for carving, in production, unfinished. They are all antler I buy in bulk online or from hunters and farmers I know who find them. Less offensive to those ivory freaks who want it all banned. I like the antler tips where there is no soft, marrow type interior parts. Some like whitetail is pretty solid all the way through, great stuff. On the other hand Mule and Black tail, Elk, do have some softer insides, very porous and holy in the wider beams, but the tips and thin tines are great. Anyway, glad you like, here is more to look at, and it's about the hardness of oak or maple, definitely doable with files, coping saw, Dremel tools etc. Belt sanders and wood drill bits and need a buffer for finishing. Not hard to work at all, like wood work really. Good luck, don't be afraid to try and you will get the hang and get better with experience. Hope this helps.

Re: Knife Photography
Outstanding red bone display. Love those colors. Wow. They know how to do it, why don't they re-issue, bring back the recipe, do another run with red bone like that? Can't figure Case out, quit making their best patterns and bone color/jigging.toomanyknives wrote: ↑Fri Oct 02, 2020 4:19 am IMG_0002 (2).JPG

Re: Knife Photography
Very nice shots Iman. The knife just looks "comfortable" resting on the log or in the foilage. Like it belongs exactly where it is.
