Bought this back on August 19th. And then the confusion began. It didn't get shipped so I sent a message to the seller. Seller responded that he had been in an automobile accident and had been in the hospital. Okay. Stuff happens. The next thing I know, the auction was cancelled. Say whaaaa? I applied for and after much going's on, received a refund. Today the knife showed up in my mailbox. I'm pleased but very confused. So I sat down and wrote the seller a check for the knife and shipping. I'll get that in tomorrow's mail. Very confusing but I'm glad to get the knife.

Got this Coast Serpentin or Texas Jack a few days ago. Only minus point about it is that the springs & liners are not 💯% flush with each other. But other than that, it puts on a very good show. ::tu:: It makes a nice addition to my EDC's. (It's a thin Line between Showcase & EDC)

It has two stamps Port. USA & Ireland. My guess is that Coast contracted these out to be produced in Ireland & then maybe assembled in Portland which would explain the ( 1/2 - 1mm ) difference between liners & springs. But I'm just guessing on that. ::shrug:: Other than that one point, the F&F is very nice. ::tu::

(FYI) The same seller also has two Coast knives with double stamps but they are stamped Port. USA & Japan and both have bone handles.

Anyways, here are some bad pictures of it. Take Care & Thanks for looking! ::handshake::

Tom,

As best as I have been able to determine, Coast Cutlery has NEVER made a knife. Everything that I have seen with their name on could be traced back to some maker - Western, Imperial, Camillus, etc. Western made fixed blades for them starting back in the 1950s.

Received my new Maher and Grosh #14 knife . The handles are awesome and the Fit and finish work is excellent. The main has double swedge and long pull, ,the etch is well done. They did a great job on these, missed out on the trapper oh maybe next time. Have a good one.

Ripster, those Maher and Grosh knives are over the top aren’t they?

I got a new one today. Madmarco is influencing me. This is a CRKT called the CEO. It’s designed to be worn in your shirt pocket like a pen and it’s just about the same size as a pen. The slender blade is amazingly sharp. The carbon fiber handles are really nice looking. It will deploy out completely with a little practice. My fear is that when it moves out and my thumb slips off the thumbstud and the blade is not fully deployed, I will slice my thumb. Not a knife to hand to a friend to try out, unless you carry bandages with you. I think the slender design works against it if you have fat thumbs. Still, I really like this knife and intend to carry it.

Edit to post, the handles on this are not carbon fiber, they are glass reinforced nylon or GRN.

Thanks for sharing! I have one of these also. I think it's a pretty cool knife, skinny like a pen and very sharp. Mine opens real easy too.
