What is Your Latest Old Schrade?

Schrade Cutlery Company was founded in 1904 by George Schrade, and his brothers Jacob and William Schrade. In 1946 Imperial Knife Associated Companies, (IKAC; an association of Ulster Knife Co and Imperial Knife Co) purchased controlling interest in Schrade Cut Co and changed the name to Schrade Walden Cutlery. In 1973 the name was changed to Schrade Cutlery. In 2004 Schrade closed due to bankruptcy.

This forum is dedicated to the knives that are the legacy of this company. This forum is not the place to discuss the replica knives currently being imported using the Schrade name.

I picked up a decent unused but somewhat corroded 881 recently.

I narrowed my scope about a year ago to Schrade cut co. knives. Good ones like the ones you have been showing are hard to find especially in the South where I live.

I live in oklahoma and have only ever seen one schrade cut locally and it was a lousy worn out knife. If not for ebay, the knife forums and the tulsa arms show I would not have a collection of old schrades at all.

Same here. If it wasn’t for eBay and AAPK members, I would never have the opportunity to see one, much less own one.

Not that old, but I got an SP-2 Raider from a member here really cheaply. Given how my 3OT is a little fiddly, I thought it would be somewhat too small, but it isn't. It's surprisingly easy to use.

Question about this dot. Looks intentional. Accident/intentional from a former owner, or mark signifying second?
KIMG2073.JPG

I plan to get the SP-7 next, despite being too big for my tastes. I don't really collect (mostly buy as users) these lightweight models, but I've got a small list of them I want to add: SP-3 Tennessee Vols (orange handle), serrated models, Harry Gant edition, as well as SP-22X, SP-32X with black blades. And of course plenty of plain black PE and SE bladed ones as users. Any unique SFO/promo colors I should look out for?

I picked up these two at a gun show this last weekend. They are not old but "new unused" in their boxes. 127UH lock blade and a 125OT lock blade. Boxes are a little rough but the Old Timer still has the factory grease on it in the plastic wrapper. Both of course are USA made. ::tu:: Terry

Those Schrade folding hunters are big favorites with me; thanks for showing them! There is another thread here, 'your latest Schrade,' that may be a better fit.

Got another archie. This one goes with my bare-head version, both 3 1/4 inches, still snappy @ 100 years old plus.

Just a plain old 1973-1983 Schrade 834.
Takes and holds a great edge and is a beauty.
You just can’t beat a Schrade USA pocket knife.
