Nice Barlow, never seen one with the maker marks below the Rogers name on bolster. Not sure if” makers mark “ is correct wording ,but is marking the bolster ,with those two marks ,normal for that knife.
Thank you Sir, have a good one down there my friend

I appreciate that Steve. I've got another Case today - a 1972 #61093 Texas Toothpick with CV & bone along with a Schrade 8OT Senior Stockman, with carbon & bone, that was given a second life by Jeffin:

Yes, they are normally marked with the makers name. It is a beautiful little knife in the hand, and you do not even feel it in the pocket, just a really nice all round EDC. You stay safe and have a good week mate. :D ::tu:: ::handshake::

I carry a Great Eastern ancient TC Barlow everywhere I go! I love this little knife. I have quite a few truly ancient Barlow’s, and this one really embodies all of them. Stellar snap, razor sharp, and I love the note on the tube that asks one to “please use this knife”
I have read all of Mark Twain’s novels a dozen times, this knife really does remind me of Tom and Huck, except that this one can* cut... unlike Tom’s.

Thank Charlie 👍🏻
One of the best designed and looking knives I own.
cannot wait for them to do another.
I don’t use many in my collection. But this is one that makes me happy every time I snap it open!

I'm glad to see this one getting used! I am a big Great Eastern Cutlery fan. I have even been to the factory and bought a couple of knives there. Also my mother was born and raised in Titusville, PA, so I it gives me a certain connection with GEC and of course Queen. When I get one new or like new I end up putting it away and saying "I'll use it someday" However, "someday" never seems to come... but they sure look nice in a display case

I know what you mean! I am happy to have found this one had already seen some use when I bought it. It made to choice of it as my edc an easy one:)
I have some I would love to use... but like you said, it is tough to take that first cut with some. I am also a big GEC fan, I have a northfield Barlow here that it my best looking gec, it’s a real gator snap. Super tight, really well made. I would love to use it but it is just too damn pretty. I have carried a couple times lol 😂 but thats it, never used. Some day.

Ivoryman that is a great one, I love the look of those early knifes coming out of Walden, especially with the easy open notch. Very cool! That bone is stellar, great patina

That Northfield Barlow is beautiful! Remember that song "The First Cut Is the Deepest"? ::hmm:: I should write a song "The Frist Cut Is the Hardest".
My dream is to find a GEC #46 WHALER at a flea market for a flea market price, used with some scratches and scuffs and that baby would be on my hip everyday...I would be cutting rope, cutting boxes etc. etc. But I also dreamed about winning the lottery... ::teary_eyes:: and that has never happened either. ::teary_eyes::
