Ebay scammer ?

Post by Oman »

Hey folks. I am relatively new to collecting and purch. alot on Ebay.
This is a new one, has anyone had this happen and if so what did you do?
I got 2 fairly expensive Robt. Klas knives from the same seller 2 weeks apart. Long story short, I never got the knives although ins. was paid for. Been going round and round for 7 weeks so I put in an ebay and paypal complaint. Now he says he has 180 days to file a claim and does not want to yet. I said fine just refund my $$. Wierd or what!
I have a feeling my $300 is gone. BTW this guy lives in Kentucky, I mite have to take a vaca. down there to look at leaves.

The problem is,is that when a seller prints his own label they never scan those in when they get to th post office. So they really don't know whether they got it or not. :x the reason I know this is that I have never been able to track a # with a self printed label, also I know a whole lot of Postmen.who have told me that this is the case.

Open a dispute with Paypal first, before going to your credit card company.

If there is no proof of delivery (and you said Delivery confirmation only shows the label being printed), you should get your money back.

Thanx Karl. I already did file with paypal. Hope I get my $$ back. I just cannot understand why he refuses to file an ins. claim.

Don't just file the complaint, be sure to escalate it to a claim. When you do that they will pull the funds from his account asap.

Otto,
Are you sure he even bought the insurance. If he was planning to rip you off he may have pocketed the money paid for the insurance as well as the shipping charge and the purchace price of the knife. Ask for proof he bought the insurance. I bet he can't show any.
Where in Ky. is this guy located?

thanx for the info. The knives were purch. 8/24 and 8/30. From his feedback he seems o.k
But he has given me the runaround. For eg. "I need to file, will not give ins #, says only ins. for $200 so we are both out" Just bizzar and it is making me mad.
So I should escalte my Paypal complaint ?

Oh Jonnie both supposedly shipped at once. Filed on Sunday. Like I said I have been strung along. I am always giving the benefit of the doubt.

Oman; Klas knives from the same seller 2 weeks apart.

jonet143; were both knives sent in the same shipment?

Oman ; Oh Jonnie both supposedly shipped at once.

I guess this means that both knives were sent in one box at the same time.
The $200.00 ins. is on the box total contains and not each knife.
You did right by making a PAY PAL complaint.
I am sure the money for the ins. did not go to the shipper.
I think it’s an error in Ebays way to send fast and lable boxes to save time for the seller.
I fell you will get your money back from Pay Pal it just takes time.
Pay Pal is on your side.
Do your best to state the facts and try not to send any bad words about the seller.

You can call PayPal on their toll free phone number listed at their website and talk directly to them about your problem with the dealer. Hope this helps. You should not lose your money.
