That price on eBay for $149.00 (I think) was much more than I was willing to pay.

Cleaned on it some, rounded the broken tip on the master and put a edge on her, got the master opening just fine but the little pen gonna take some more work. She's riding fine in the pocket.

I replaced my "cheap throw on" boots with these by Dunlop. Despite only being $20, they are American made, much more aggressive tread, and despite a steel toe cap weigh much less than the Servus (which are not steel toe) they are replacing. I have a much nicer pair replacing my Muck that should be here today. I kinda regret ordering a size big (I'm normally a 9.5W; these are 10 regular), but I figured with heavy socks, and insulated inserts, I needed to order a size big.
Dunlop Chesapeake Safety.
And, keeping on topic, I did order a knife with them.
Gerber Ultralight LST. I like these really small lightweight lockbacks around the house, since they are unobtrusive in any pocket, even the chest pocket of a cheap T-shirt. Gerber, I wish, still made the Magnum and Magnum Jr. LSTs. They stopped making them about 10 years ago. But, unlike the current ones, they are big and sturdy enough to be primary EDC folders for the hardest of jobs. Plus, at $12, really cheap for an American made knife. The self-close is stronger than my 4X more expensive Spyderco Ladybug, and it is decently sharp.
And after having to drag out the trauma shears to rip open the packaging:

Q, just looking at your new knife, a word I don't use very often especially when referring to knives came to my old feeble mind, "graceful". That knife looks graceful!

Q and K'roo, made for each other. Sweet ivory.
Benton 629, always fun to fulfill childhood fantasies.
This last 6 weeks have been a bit frustrating on the bay. I have purchased 3 different 72 clones and each time the order has been canceled. Twice because the seller moved and couldn't find the product the other time the seller had gotten busy with personal crisis and didn't have time to ship. I have assured each seller that I am a patient man and really want the knife. This week the tide turned, one of the movers found the box with the knife and the other seller got things straightened out and both completed the sale for a 2nd time. So these two arrived today. The first a Whitetail Cutlery out of Japan in decent shape and the 2nd a York Cutlery from Solingen. The York is a wonderful knife. Extremely well made and absolutely wonderful handles. It looks to be polished to remove some corrosion but I am still very pleased. This is the only York that I have seen come up for sale since I got on the 72 quest. It was very over priced but with a make an offer which I did, still a little high and he accepted. Very excited about the York and pleased with both knives. More pics in the 72 clones thread. Thanks for looking. Now if that last seller can find the box.......

Q, I won't even try to come up with a different adjective than treefarmer. He nailed it perfectly. That is a singularly graceful knife.
doglegg, I am not familiar with the York brand but your fine example tells me I ought to be.

Re: Mail Call !-Post your new pick-ups here............
These came in the mail yesterday. I've got on a kick about knives from a variety of countries--these are one from Spain and one from Italy. The Andujar lockback just caught my eye; I love the handle. It's got a nice heft to it, too.
The Wenoka from Italy was unused--but totally dull. Looked like about a 45 degree bevel on the edge. I got to practice my sharpening skills on it, and wow! I'm pretty pleased with how that went. Now I guess I'll see how long it holds an edge.
So far I have knives from the US, Germany, Spain, Italy, Pakistan, Japan, China (way too easy) and I have one on the way from Israel. I know there are quite a few other countries that produce or have produced knives--I'm just keeping my eyes open for something I like.

This pair of bargain Buck 722's showed up yesterday. Fast ship by the seller was thwarted by the USPS.
Knives first-----
And then the odyssey of them getting here. I don't know why they had to take a trip through S. Wisconsin when it's a straight shot due West from Chicago to here. I can drive it in under two hours.

Catching up on all the new pick-ups. Very nice additions everyone. I got these in the mail this week.
A Case Harley Davidson edition Mini Trapper single blade. A Ulter model ULSC4J Boy Scout Knife And lastly, a Camillus 1047, Boy Scouts Of America White Handle Swell Center Whittler. It will need a little clean up, but blades are tight, and have great snap.

Papa Bones, that second knife is the spitting' image of the one I carried when I was in Boy Scouts! I have no idea what happened to it, but seeing that photo does bring back memories!
