Welcome Schrade guys

Post by agteacher2 »

I finished this yesterday for my friend Mike Pardue. He did the silver overlays and the engraving. I did the rehandle and filework. The handles are Texas Ebony, Barry Posner mosaic pins.

Welcome to AAPK and enjoy,

Jeff

Nice. Based on photos here on the site, I've made arrangements with Mike to do some work on a Schrade Bowie of mine. The knife is currently off getting fitted for a new sheath, then it will be sent to Texas.

What I'll be seeking then is some nice blade etching. agteacher, you seem to know your customizing.. know anyone who does good etching??

Got the knife in it's new sheath back today. Made a deal with a leather crafter in my knife club; a knife for sheath. It's a step up from the original as you can see.

Sending the knife out today to Mike Pardue, who I first became aware of compliments of this forum. He's going to do something with the brass pommel and guard. I don't know what... best thing to do with an artist, I have found, is turn him loose. Which is what I did with the sheath maker.

I'll show the knife off here when it gets back.

Anyone know where I can get some nice blade etching done????????

Phil

I could not agree more about that.

Sheath sure looks nice. ...looking forward to seeing the finished knife.

I'll bet you will be very happy with Mr. Pardue's work. I have a buck 110 that Jeff Jones and he colaborated on and I love it ::nod:: .

Phil,

I hate to see someone hanging, and it took me awhile to find this site. I may've seen some of their work at a gun show in Phoenix...but I'm not 100% it was these folks.

Best I could do.

I don't have the knife back yet, Mike will send it this week. However, he did send some pics. Oh wow... I am one happy knife boy. The knife is no longer just an orphan from the glory days of Schrade.. It's a personal thing now that Mike has done his fine work.

Mike... I sent you a couple of emails upon gettting the knife back, but both were returned to me. I guess you can tell how pleased I am with your workmanship. Thank you, very sincerely, for making this knife worthy of the Schrade name.
