I see that knife shown in the 1959 catalog. It may be earlier, but I don't have any catalog evidence of that.
Thanks for that tip! I found the 1959 catalog online, and it says "New" on the page with this knife. So, I think that sets the lower end of the range at 1959. We know that the Imperial name was discontinued in 1988 by Schrade, so that puts the range at 1959-1988. That's a lot more info than I had before, thanks!

When I was a kid in Central California, Imperial knives were VERY common. Almost every gas station, corner market, liquor store, auto parts store, farm supply store, bait & tackle store, etc, etc had at least one of the counter-top cardboard displays of inexpensive shell-construction Imperial knives. Imperial must have had a heck of a sales rep working Central California in the 1960s & 70s!
Same here most of the time right next to the Colonial card stand and others.

Tom, IC Cut stands for Ishikawa Cutlery in Seki Japan. It is a consortium of knife makers in Japan. They produce very high quality pieces but at a little lower price than Moki or Mcusta. Bob Lum has designed knives that have been produced by IC Cut and so have several other master cutlers like G Sakai, Hattori, Imai, Loveless, and more. Well worth picking up when you can. I have never seen or handled a badly made knife by them.

Benchmade North Fork. That's hard to say. I keep wanting to say Norfolk. Great knife though.

Here is what the Post Rider brought today.
The #7 Camillus in the background is an "Adventurer B.S.A." Cam-Loc.
Never seen one before.
Forward left is a Bear & Son Penknife and right is a Rough Rider Baby Trapper.

Well here is what the Ponder Post Rider left me today.
A little key chain or fob knife with a seahorse on it. The
tang stamp is PROV. CUT. CO. over PROV. R.I. U.S.A. I'm
going to say that is Imperial unless one of you more knowledgeable gentlemen correct me.
The second one is a SCHRADE+ over U.S.A. L.T.D. that I purchased from one
of our members. That bad boy has got some weight to it and some real nice file work.

David, that Schrade is sweet. I just about bought that one the other day. Jeffin does great work.

I got in these two today. The first is a Paragon made in Seki Japan. It’s an inter frame lock knife. The handles are nickel silver w/ cocobolo wood inserts.
The second one is a Queen canoe w/ amber bone stag. Queen’s amber bone stag is amongst the best made.

I found this Schrade USA Old Timer 858OT Lumberjack in my mailbox today. I also photographed it next to my Old Timer 8OT Senior Stockman for comparison.
