Handmade Indian pocketknife

Here's something a little different.

A bit of rust to clean up, but the blade and spring are in good shape. Brass handle scales, slipjoint with a nice halfstop and a sheepsfoot blade. Also, a copper wire bail with a chain and bottle opener. Fit and finish is better then I expected from the pictures when I purchased it. It doesn't have a kicker, unfortunately, and the edge impacts the section of the bail that loops through the handle. The seller had a few other bail and bottle opener knives and I wonder if that style was particularly popular in India at some point? I have no clue what the date on this might be.

We tend to 'crap' on knives made in India or Pakistan but i am sure that some of them are decent knives that can edge hold reasonably well.
I have no idea of the age of your knife but it does look 'older', not recently made.
Is the blade edge sharp ? If not would be interesting to know how well it sharpens up.

Very interesting knife. I like the "Atlas" cap lifter too. If you really like the knife, it wouldn't be too hard to weld a kick into the blade. I had a knife once that someone had stuffed a little piece of wood into the blade well, all the way down against the spring, that functioned just like a kick.

It is not currently sharp, but I suspect that it once was. It is a nice thin blade and I think it would take a good, sharp edge.
