Help with manufacturer of this old knife

Thanks for everyone's help. I believe this knife could possibly be as old as the 1860's and, due to the nail nick being gone ( as made at the factory? ), I think it could have been thrown into the "seconds" pile and forgotten.

The knife shown was made in Solingen, Germany in the early 1900s and most likely by Gebruder Berns as shown in the illustration below. "K & M" was most likely a retailer that contracted out to Berns for that particular model.

We are so fortunate to have Mason as an active AAPK member. He has solved a number of 'mystery' knives that had the rest of us stumped.
