Re: Marbles sleeveboard and cattle knife
Thanks, I've discussed this before but I too think that the Marbles and also the Colts are made in the same factory as RR's
There's a couple of knives in my pile" the congress whittler & the swing guard"that are patterns that I'd not have to enjoy because of the cost. Sellers on ebay ask for a lot of money for examples of the old US brands of these patterns even in what I consider wore out conditions.

Re: Marbles sleeveboard and cattle knife
I occasionally buy a Chinese-made knife or two (I have even bought one marked Miller Brothers), though I fully respect any of you who choose not to. I far prefer US made knives. At the same time, I do wish that they would not copy the names of old US cutlery companies. It would cause far less confusion to future novice collectors. But many of these have a distinctive look that may help identify them as copies.
To me it is just as bad that many knives are were made in Japan with the Cattaraugus name. They look different enough, and they are well built, but they (to me) are not a 'real' Cattaraugus.
I do not have a problem with the knives, but I would like it better if they would change the names.
