Nice one! I'm still deciding between the Strong Arm and LMF II; with the later in full ASEK kit with strap cutter attached to sheath.The Strongarm is a better size, but I like the sheath and carry options of the LMF more, especially its leg straps.

I don't care for serrated blades except in the kitchen, so neither the LMF nor the Bear Grylls were for me.

A lot of 4 Kershaw A-100s. I paid $95 shipped, a lot of money for four broken tools. So, you might call me nuts, and I did there until they showed up in my mailbox. A single user one these days is like $120. They stopped making them about 20 years ago, and they tend to be very expensive, because they were when new. I've long been looking for a multitool with locking pliers, and of the three main ones that have been made over the years (Schrade Tough Grip/Petersen Vise-Grip Toolbox; Leatherman Crunch, and then the A-100), I personally felt it was the best choice.

Out of 4, I got one really nice one by replacing a single screw/pivot set, one a little beat-up, but passable by replacing another pivot/screw, as well as a spacer, and I still have enough parts to make a third, I think, as one is missing a rivet and the entire lock mechanism, and the tool I tore down for parts still has the pliers lock.

These two were easily fixed--numbered #1 and #3 in marker by the seller. Some hardware swapping from #4, a pair of Vise Grips (#1 was actually repaired with #3 doing the locking pliers job, replacing my beat up Petersen USA 6LN Vise Grips), and some small Channellock-type pliers by Crescent (really, ignition pliers) and Loctite got the job done. Still need to replace the extension springs that lock the pliers. They are stretched out excessively, meaning the pliers don't spring open as hard as they should. They appear to be a common spring Fastenal or any hardware place will carry. One is going to be a mechanical work EDC, the other is going in my truck.

There's enough parts leftover to repair #2 by using what's left of the destroyed #4. #4 has a broken pliers jaw and a broken blade, so I used it for parts to repair the other two. #2 is missing the entire lock release mechanism that releases the blade, and a thumb stud on the blade, both of which can be sourced from #4. A member of another forum was wanting a blade, as well as having some other parts for spares. I'll trade these off, and already have someone on another forum that is wanting them to repair others he has. And this guy is always buying and trading all kinds of old tools.

Got a GEC 33 today in Antique Autumn Bone. I like this, but I am getting tired of all the brown colored knives that GEC is making. This one is lite. So lite I thought that they forgot to put it in the tube. This is my kind of knife to carry. It’s very practical.

Although I'm an automobile technician who always has a knife on him, I've never actually collected knives. I guess I've just been used to beating 'em up, losing them or whatever else might make me start carrying another, like my work boots. I owned this 1st gen for a few years and carried it in my pocket for awhile like it was nothing, it was a gift from a good friend. I learned some more about the brand and stopped carrying it. Afterwards, I bought some more here and there but recently I guess I lost control and just started hunting them down.
