Mystery Knife!!
Hello All,
I was hoping someone could give some info on this knife. A co-worker's grandfather gave him this knife before he died and he is wanting some information on it. It has no markings that I can find. Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks,
TNCASEGUY

Re: Mystery Knife!!
No markings is usually not good in terms of value. The plain round shield is another clue for that. May have come from a gas station convenience store. Looks like it was well used by his grandfather.

It reminds me a bit of the early Pakistani "Bullet" knives that had camel bone handles and a round shield simulating the end of a cartridge. I had one a long time ago but a friend wanted it more than I did.

Agree on the Pakistan vibe. Looks like some of the Pakistan knives I had in a collection I bought once.

No matter what it is, it is priceless to him.
The things I have from my grandfathers are similar. I have rusty green push mower that belonged to my mother’s father that I treasure. It wasn’t even a good machine when it was new. Lol.

Re: Mystery Knife!!
Agreed. A coworker asked me to clean up a few knives that belonged to his dad (now gone). One of the knives is a stubby pakistan lock back. The lock doesn't even work properly. But it is priceless because it belonged to his dad.
I don't think any of the knives I found while cleaning out my father-in-law's house after his passing would be considered collectible or valuable, but I wouldn't trade them for anything.

I don’t want to side rail this thread any more than it already is, but it seems to have run it’s coarse anyway.
In my opinion there is no better way to connect to the past and feel history (or reconnect with a loved one)than to cut with or hold an old knife. Great hobby we have! It will take you from ancient times to the space age and beyond.
