The Ulster Scout knife was pretty rasty but I did some oiling and Moto-Tool wire brushing and now all the blades have snap except for the main blade and it's more of a dull thunk. There's a chip out of the main blade but you could just say it's partially serrated. It's definitely a user except for one problem. One of the bolsters is gone. That leaves no doubt it's a Schrade made knife. (Swinden Key exposed)

Ulster Scout Knife - Missing Bolster (made by Scrade).JPG

The little Sears/Craftsman has full blades and the pen blade has great snap but the main blade is more like a dull thunk. Other than that, it's fair decent condition.

Craftsman 95041 Small Jack - Labeled.JPG

And then there's the little Case 1979 5220 Peanut. Other than age and lack of care, it's in good condition. The blades both have half-stops and gator snap. The blades have a little rust & patina. I think someone who knew what they were doing & had the energy could really make something out of this little feller.

I like that Craftsman with the "Sears" on there! Nice find Jerry! ::tu:: ::super_happy::

A later model Kutmaster small serpentine Jack 2-13/16 inch long . Clip blade etched with "Kutmaster TUNGSTEN STAINLESS STEEL" The Tangstamp on the Clip Blade has KUTMASTER over UTICA CUT .CO. , UTICA N.Y. It has a pen blade secondary, and both blades have the letter "T" on the Pile side. Gater snap on both blades.
Kutmaster Tungstun_2.png

Next is a 4" Large Stockman by Western U.S.A. Traditional Clip, Sheepfoot & Spey blades. Master Blade has WESTERN over U.S.A tangstamp which was used from 1961-1977, and has S-742 over STAINLESS on the pile side. The Sheepfoot & Spey blade has SS on the pile sides. Delrin Handles with "STAINLESS" on the shield. The knife feels new with fantastic (loud) snap.
Western U.S.A. 70s.png

Two small Kutmasters. The top one a small Serpentine Jack that is 2-7/8" long, with Clip master blade (has decent snap) and Coping blade secondary with strong snap. The tang stamp on the master blade is "KUTMASTER" over "UTICA N.Y." over "MADE IN U.S.A." The handles appear to be bone, especially from the edges, feel like bone with the thumbnail, but I haven't done a pin test yet. The lower knife is a Kutmaster 3-1/4" equal end Pen knife. Both blades have great snap but have been re-profiled. The tangstamp has block lettering with "KUTMASTER" over "UTICA N.Y." over U.S.A. Handles are Delrin.

Lastly a little Craftsman peanut style serpentine jack. Model 9507 2-7/8" long.Craftsman Crown shield on Delrin handles, Sabre Clip master and pen blade secondary. Tangstamp has "CRAFTSMAN" over U.S.A. 9507. Both blades have strong snap.

Couldn't stand watching any more TV so wife and I went to a local antiques mall type of place. Even with the fans running, it was tough. Breathing through masks doesn't help either. But anyway, found this 3 blade split spring whittler with stag handles and a blade etch from L F & C. There are two springs with a brass wedge. 3 9/16 OAL, blades may not have been sharpened, no wobble and the main blade is a nail breaker to open. Maybe the oil will loosen it up a little. It was so inexpensive and way too hot to stand there and bargain, 12 bucks seemed fair.

Anyway, in one reference I have, the Houston book, it indicated this could be Humason & Beckley pattern or and L f & C pattern Can anyone nail that down and an era of production?

Looks great! I've never seen that tang stamp before. I know my sole LF&C (a Wharncliffe) has a different one.

My Wharncliffe is pretty beat up, with only moderately worn blades, but cracked Bakelite/Rubberoid/whatever they called it. I paid a bit more than $12, and thought I was getting a good deal. You stole that one at $12!

Gonna have to start going more places. So far, the only stores I allow myself into are Southern States (feed for sheep), Tractor Supply (feed, hardware, knives, diecast/toys), Farm Bureau (feed, hardware), and Dollar General (groceries). Mostly because they are smaller stores that rarely get heavy traffic. Today, I actually went in Domino's for the first time to pick up my order (used to be, they had a table outside where they left it--they don't deliver to my house--nearest place is a Comfort Inn that is roughly halfway between my house and the store). Albeit, all smaller stores have had more business since the mall (which Rural King, TSC's main competitor here) closed due to COVID, and people not wanting to go in Walmart. I have cloth masks, but still can't stand wearing them. N95s are pretty stupid to wear in public--they made me dizzy, but it was all we had; as I'd stockpiled them long before for painting and sanding.

Made a swap with Jerry on Friday, in the mail on Saturday, in my mailbox today at 11AM.
Schrade 33OT and Camillus 14
Schrade 33OT and Camillus 14
The Camillus looks like the little brother to my 179 stockman.
Both knives used but certainly not abused. Real good walk and talk on both.

Both knives were packaged well.

Jerry was more than fair on the deal. And you noticed he was good on his word to get 'em as soon as he could.

Thanks again Jerry!!
Take care and God bless,

Steve I hope you enjoy them. Since none of those knives in my pile are "factory fresh", I sent you some of the best I could find. I'm pleased that they made the trip with no incident or detours. They are a very handy size and seem to grow on you (the royal you).
