This one again. Already opened the package of bacon this morning and then sliced it in twain, cut up delivery boxes, and sharpened some pencils.

Great looking Case there 63rdOVI, love the grind. Also that Bulldog bone and the Case red bone you posted last page keep making me go back to check it out again. Like a moth to flame. Wish Case would make another run of those. GEC too, but I hear they don't do SFOs anymore. Makes me want to cry when I see stuff like what they did with that Bulldog. Better hang on to them, Case and GEC ain't making any more of them. A true loss.

Thank you, Quick Steel. The other side isn't anything to be ashamed of. The knife has a problem, though. The master blade can catch on the bolster when it closes. I've considered filing a little on the inside corner of the bolster but krinking the blade is something I don't feel at all qualified to do. With just a little care, I can close it & never have it catch. It's when I put it up for a month or two then get it out to carry that I forget that first time I close it. I'd rather have it fixed.

Thanks, Ivoryman.

Yeah, I’ve bought many knives over the years but as I age I gravitate toward the simple old-fashioned pocket knives of my youth, like these old Cases. Simple materials, good steel, and built like tanks. I bought some backups over the years, too, for which I’m glad. I’ve seen some of the prices on these now and they aren’t cheap. It’s a shame real American knife craftsmanship — apart from Case, GEC, and some customs — is slowly becoming a thing of the past.

I have a coupled of Gerber gators on me today. I had to cut some rope so I like the serrated version for that job. I have about 9 of these knives, in various condition and configurations. I love these knives but, I have tried to downsize my collection as of late and I have taken some to try and sell at gun shows or flea markets and these aren't great sellers... it seems like they are a sort of "Rodney Dangerfield" of Gerber knives. I think they are a great value for a USA made knife. Any opinions out there on this subject?

Don't know what you paid or what they are worth, but QTCut5 better known as Q, has traded these to some local pig hunters/fisherman in Hawaii. I hope he will chime in. I think the hunters love them for hunting and I think for corrosion resistance in moist even salt water environs. Looks like a stout, tough, all around hunter butcher knife that folds up. Sweet.

Beat the brush with this today. Literally. Trail maintenance.

I cleaned and sharpened one for a feller once. I was impressed with the feel in hand and the quality.

I ended up with one of those Gerbers, some how, ::shrug:: and found it to be very comfortable in the hand. I've not used it but wouldn't hesitate to use it during deer season.
