Camillus 72 Clones

The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

A little earlier today, I purchased these three knives. These three CAMILLUS 72 variations. I bought it also, but "ignore" the Remington "Bird Knife." First it's, as far as I can tell, an "unbranded", 3 blade, swelled center, "whittler" pocket knife. I'll have to investigate the shield. Next up, it's an ULSTER 63, 3 blade, swelled center, "whittler" pocket knife. Again, missing the shield. What is it with ULSTER 63's and missing shields? Last is a POWR-KRAFT, 3 blade, swelled center, "whittler" pocket knife. I can't tell from the pictures, but I hope it's stamped 84-11. They all look to be in good condition. When they arrive, each will receive a thorough inspection. I will take pictures and post them in the appropriate location(s). Not my pictures.

Some nice finds Skip. I believe the Remington is a R-1 Upland Bird Knife. Some had a shield that had a Circle with Remington UMC, and others had a Raised Shield with a Pheasant. Nice knife.

The unbranded surly has a unique shield in the fourth picture. From the side it almost looks like a flower over a rabbit head. ::shrug:: Of course I failed the Rorschach Test. ::super_happy::

This is the latest CAMILLUS 72 variation to join my collection. It's a McGrew ARKANSAS, "HillBilly Classic", 3 blade, swelled center, yellow handles, "whittler" pocket knife. It came with the box. It required no cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is. The last picture is of the 4 McGrews in my collection.

Found this old Kastor list Craftsman over on another forum. It is bone handled and appears to be pre model number. This is probably the best example of a Kastor list Craftsman that I have. The seller was from Israel so I am quite the international blade merchant. Am glad to bring it home. Thanks for looking. ::handshake::
