The momma cat and kitten are still here so I guess we’ve been adopted. The kitten is most definitely a calico, but bot knowing much about cats, I can’t decide what the mother is. She’s orange, black, and grey, and has a white tip on her tail. She has stripes around her legs, tail, and faintly on her torso.

Any of you cat people know what she is?

Looks like a tabby cat which represent about a half-dozen types. Suggest you google for more info on tabbys.

Looks to be a reproducer. My understanding is that all calicos are female so it looks like you may have a barn full of cats before long if the coyotes don't thin'em out for you.

Coyotes here like cats. So do skunks, raccoons, and bobcats. We had “barn cats” years ago which reproduced frequently but their offspring always got thinned quickly. For years at least a couple of them were wary and wise enough to survive but eventually they all disappeared. We have been without any cats for at least 10 years, until these showed up. My wife is allergic so they won’t be house cats and she’ll have nothing to do with them except from a distance.

The momma cat is real friendly and comes running to me when she sees me. The kitten is curious but skittish. She comes with momma but if I approach her she runs away. She might have a chance! I’m putting out cat food and water in the shop and leaving the roll-up door cracked open just enough that they can get in and out. During the day they’re usually in the shop somewhere. But every night I see them out, so we shall see how they fare.

Thanks Steve! I love everyone's pets on here..all beautiful animals for sure..I truly believe they are a gift from God! Chasing the ball a trillion times and barking at a snake in Cook Forest wore her out!
