Hen and Rooster 313

Traded this weekend for a Stockman style Hen and Rooster, model 313. It's in immaculate condition, never sharpened, no scratches, period.

But...........

The name on the tang is "Bertram Cutlery", and it has the round shield, so I'm guessing it's made post-1980, probably by Frost. Also, since the country is "Germany", not "W Germany", I'm assuming it's post Berlin Wall. It's stainless, not carbon steel.

It's a well made knife, feels good in the hand, clean inside and out, no blade etch, very solid feeling. But, I don't think I have much more than what I traded off, instead of the more vintage blade I was hoping for.

I can't find a 313 model listed anywhere. Does anyone know anything about a model 313?

You might want to go to the Smokey Mountain Knife Works web site at eknifeworks.com and then click on the shop by brands button. A list of brands will come up. Click on the Hen and Rooster link. When that screen opens up there's a box at the top where you can type in the number 313. It will show you numerous variations of the 313 pattern available. I'm not sure if SMKW is the exclusive distributor for current production Hen N Roosters but they do carry a lot of them and usually feature them in their catalog. I suspect it's tied in with Frost Cutlrey but I do not know that for certain. Anyway, hope this is some help to you.

The knife I have looks very much like the HR313RPB, except mine has no blade etching, and the tang is marked 313-HCB. Mine also has jigged brown handles, instead of red.

So, I'm closer to finding it.
