Playing with a new bolster design
Not sure if I like it yet or not. I’ll leave it sit on the bench for a bit and see if it grows on me. If not, Ill just replace it with a plain Jane bolster.

IMO it looks good Jeff!
I'm sure we all have different tastes but I for one think it looks good.

Looks like a good idea Jeff.
I bet it would look nice on a finished knife.

Nice file-work. The choice of pin will make or break that one, IMHO

I like it Jeffinn. It reminds me of the old Pacific Telesis, Pacific Bell logo.
Pictured below, scattered amongst these pins are Pacific Telesis, Pacific Bell pins. I think any of these would make a terrific shield. There are a few, plain and simple logo pins (look at the square, goldtone pins), to the bit more expressive pins. Which I'm sure that you could customize any way you see fit. Click on the picture to ENLARGE. If interested, they are for sale here.

I also like it Jeff. But, I will be more certain when I get to see it on a finished knife. It does remind me a bit of the Union Jack (national flag of the United Kingdom).

I was thinking "sunburst," pretty cool.

Re: Playing with a new bolster design
Love the look! Man, that bolster would fit beautifully with a fileworked spring! I had first thought of filing the pin to match, but Glennbad's idea of a proud domed pin would be perfect! I believe that you have definitely found a way to make your work stand out from the crowd!

I like file work as long as it is not overdone( like jewelry and cologne).

Kinda late on this...but I really like that 'star burst' effect, or 'sun burst'. I hope you move forward on this project, Jeffin. Looks very nice.
