Newest Case Pick-Ups

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

Found this sorry looking CaseXX 640045R at the swap meet today for $5. Good snap and no real abuse on any blade or tool. I believe this is from 1965-1969. I do not have a Case for my Camp knife collection. Only have 12 so it is quite small. Anyhow it will be a nice restoration project.

I have a bit of black Delrin I will use. Try to really replicate original to some extent.

Nice find and cool restoration project. Looking in Steve's book (Page 161), it looks like it was originally jigged Black Composition but he also has a 1990 pictured with jigged Black Delrin. You might be able to find jigged Black Comp. if you decide to go that route. Don't forget to post the finished product. ::tu::

Lots of cool knives on this page! ::tu:: ::tu::
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

Two new trappers to add to the collection. A Gray Corleon and a 6.5 Stag. The Corleon looks like a chunk of granite, really cool.
Also purchased a custom made display from a young man on the Case XX knives Facebook page, I am more than pleased to hang this one on the wall and start filling her up!

Six dot 62055 fairly lept into my pocket yesterday.

Chris, what's the closed length on that?

Edit: Never mind. Looked it up and Steve Pfeiffer says the closed length is 3-3/8". (He has one for sale on eBay)
