Thank you Smitty. ::tu:: The second line of the tang stamp says INOXYDABLE.
Which is another translation of stainless. Interesting.

Tonight, I purchased this "unbranded" knife. It's a single blade, 1 tool, "deer head" handle, scouting/camping style pocket knife. This will fit in nicely in the zoo. From what I can see, it looks like it's in very good condition. When I receive it, I'll check it out. Pictures will be taken and posted in the appropriate location(s).

These three knives, albeit a stretch, will be joining the zoo in July. All three are part of the Imperial and Colonial, Mexico connection. They are all PASTOR ALEMAN (German Shepherd), multi-blade & tool pocket knives. All have the "dog head" profile on the tang stamps. That qualifies them for zoo residency. It looks like all three are going to need some degree of cleaning. When they arrive, sometime early in July, I'll do what's necessary. Pictures will be taken and posted in the appropriate location(s). Here they are.

The newest member of the herd - a Keen Kutter 834. It was very cheap but also rusted shut when it showed up yesterday. It spent the night submerged in oil and got scrubbed good this afternoon. Almost perfect, but the clip blade lost its bite.

That's a BEAUTY Jason! ::tu:: ::tu:: Looks like it just came from the factory. At least we know it doesn't have a Mexico connection. Or does it........ :D

Here are today's newest zoo arrivals. First, an "unbranded", single blade, 1 tool (corkscrew), "Deer Head" pocket knife. No cleaning was required. Second is an Imperial, 2 blade, "Deer Head" pocket knife. It required more than a cleaning. I may or may not reprofile the blades. I haven't decided yet. I took some pictures and here are the knives.
This is the Imperial "before."

I just bought these two future zoo residents. Both are ULSTER 50D, 2 blade, "Deer Head" pocket knives. Both look like they are in good condition. Both will get inspected upon my receiving them and if needed, cleaned. I will take pictures and post them in the appropriate location(s). Here they are, one knife is the first 3 pictures and the other, the last 2 pictures. These are not my pictures.

This knife was bought this morning. It will be added to my "South Of The Border" collection. It is an Imperial, 2 blade, 1 tool (corkscrew), "HECHO EN MEXICO" pocket knife. It also has a "Deer Head" on the handle, this qualifies it for zoo residency. This knife "brand" is part of the Imperial and Colonial, Mexico story/connection. It appears to be in good condition. When I receive it, I'll give it the once over, take some pictures and post them in the appropriate location(s).

Today, these 3 pocket knives take up residency at the zoo. First up, a PASTOR ALEMAN (German Shepherd), single blade, 3 tool pocket knife. This knife is part of the Imperial and Colonial, Mexico connection. It required a good cleaning, I did what I could. Next is a PASTOR ALEMAN (German Shepherd), 2 blade, 1 tool pocket knife. This knife is part of the Imperial and Colonial, Mexico connection. It required a good cleaning, I did what I could. Finally, a PASTOR ALEMAN (German Shepherd), 3 blade, 2 tool pocket knife. This pocket knife has two tang stamps. It looks like it had a fourth blade or a third tool, only the stub remains. This knife is part of the Imperial and Colonial, Mexico connection. It needed a massive cleaning, it got one. I took some pictures and here are the knives.
