I just obtained this knife for best offer. It was issued in 1978. I got transferred with my job from New York to California in 1978. This knife covers the year and the event on the knife itself, covers the state. It will always be a reminder of the first major "event" in my, at the time, young adult life. These aren't my pictures.

I'm adding this after the original posting. If you add up the numbers on the tang stamp (1786), they add up to 22. I turned 22 in November, 1978.

A good looking and interesting Boker Skip. There might be a collecting project there. I could see someone collecting a series: a knife issued each year of a major life event, e.g. marriage, birth of child, job promotion, etc. etc.

Skip, ownership of that knife was simply meant to be for you - nice pickup!

QS, that is exactly how I pursued collecting Case Knives when I began knife collecting. I’d look for different patterns and different year tang stamps (Case made that real easy starting in 1970). One of the first older Case I bought was a 6318 from 1977 - the year we were married. I then added 1982, 85, and 89 for the years my children were born. Of course then I started trying to fill in with one from every year from 1970 forward. It’s all fun! OH

Very nice! Even more interesting how the serial numbesr work out. I personally collect knives and belt buckles (as well as hard hat stickers and the like) relating to the West Virginia and Southwest Virginia coal mining industry. Decent enough concentration to where I can find the things around here, and sometimes, from the companies themselves if I ask.

I just purchased these for best offer. There are 4, 11" x 17" prints of Adolphus & Anheuser Busch knives and a few straight razors. MINT condition and I will frame them. I don't know if EVERY example of knife is shown, but the ones that are, look good.
Not my pictures.

Thank you Floyd, yes it is. ::tu:: I hope nobody suggests that I try to acquire an example of every knife pictured in the prints. I would have to have Trump's bank account.

I obtained this "unbranded" knife tonight for best offer. It's a single blade, 1 tool, "Deer Head" handle, scouting/camping style pocket knife. This will fit in nicely in the zoo. From what I can see, it looks like it's in very good condition. When I receive it, I'll check it out. Pictures will be taken and posted in the appropriate location(s).

Two Camillus knives.

A small lockback (2 3/8 closed); model 870. I just love these little lockbacks. For $10 shipped, I couldn't say no to bidding, and I did get it. I prefer the 902 as my choice small Camillus lockback (rubber handle, dual locking blades, serrated second blade), but this one's good for light stuff I do around the house--cleaning my fingernails, cutting tape, opening food packaging, opening packages (aka more knives).

I like the handles of cattle knives, and found this #75 for about $25. This is my perfect blade layout; clip, sheepsfoot, and pen. Eventually getting rehandled.
