Had to have some electrical work done ,and as usual, I tagged along. The work was no where near as major as expected, so I didn't need any of it.

Milwaukee 4" Tradesman fixed blade. Surprisingly, very good for the $15 price tag. Honestly, better than most Moras at this price point.
Camillus USA Dura-Tool Electrican
Gerber AR 3.00 (I grabbed it when I got out of bed this morning; beater knife that carries well--given everyone I know that has one hates it; I am surprised it lasted me all winter as my work knife kept in the coat)
Knipex 160mm Combination pliers
Maglite LED Solitaire (my typical EDC light).

Boker Tree Brand #208B Whittler & #6006 Medium Congress, both with carbon & bone. It wouldn't bother me at all if the Congress had bone like the Whittler.

A lot of cars, from a lot of different eras. The oldest is the gray-blue Ford Transit pickup from Siku, ca. late 1960s; with some there as new as a couple years ago (there were some I had taken photos of for another; diecast-related forum I'm on I'd picked up just this week).

The Schrade van, which you'll see with a lot of my Schrade-related thread photos, in new-in-box condition, was listed here recently for over a hundred bucks. Ertl made them for Schrade in the mid-1990s. They seem to be extremely hard to find. Mine came as a bulk lot with a few other toys and models in it for around twenty bucks. I wouldn't call it mint, as there are some tiny paint chips that are almost unnoticeable unless you look really close; and some light scratches that are barely noticeable as well. It displays quite fine, and didn't cost me a ton of money. And I got a bunch of other cool models with it, including an O-scale clockwork trolleybus.

Gorgeous bone on that Whittler! I have select few Bokers, most of them USA (and only EDC a single German Boker, a Beer Barrel Congress from the '90s), but not a Whittler. Still been meaning to pick one up.

Nice ones!

I am wondering, how practical are Doctor's Knives in EDC? I have a SAK (MiniChamp) with a small version of the pill counter/stirring blade, and find that really limited in its use, and only because it is a short and thick tool capable of light prying.

Thanks, doglegg. ::handshake:: It is and has for some time been in the "short rotation" with a pronounced hollow grind that holds a great edge and makes it beefy enough for most EDC needs which vanisheds in the pocket for a knife of its length.

The spine is definitely thicker than the SAK on the full size Case doc, and the hollow grind is fairly pronounced so you can take advantage of that to give yourself a more acute secondary bevel if it suits your cutting needs. Frankly I wish Case would set the bevel lower out of the factory given the doc's traditional role, cutting tablets. The length and sturdiness make it a useful general purpose cutter either way, and if you use the spatula for something other than its intended purposes it might unscrew a flathead screw in a pinch or act as some sort of pry/lever in a REAL pinch - just don't expect to close it all the way if you do - but even the 1-blade full-size doc will handle plenty of cutting jobs compared to the baby docs (which are cool but not as practical) out in the real world. ::nod::

Thanks Cody, & regarding the spatula on the Doctor’s knife, for me, practical doesn’t play much of a part. I just like it. Someone suggested it could be used to spread peanut butter & jelly which does sound practical.

Or even stir your coffee. I've seen that suggested quite a bit as well. I found SMKW had a Rough Rider Doc for around $12. I think I'm gonna try it and see what all I can do with that blade.

Of course you know that the only reason one would have to stir coffee is if one has tainted the coffee with impurities such as cream and/or sugar 😜😁

Camillus made Buck 301. I’m sure there are better work knives out there, but I’ve sure never owned one.

So True. I like the earlier 301's. The new ones made today sometimes have a little difference in fit and finish. But still a good knife.

Schrade 61 OT with new scales from Second Life Knives. Check them out, the price is right. Looks way better in person and sweet old knife.
