Wenger Sterling Knife I need help with stamped legends

Welcome to AAPK.

Most sterling silver items have a set of marks or code that denote the Makers Mark, The Silver Standard used, The ASSAY Office town, and a Date Mark.

The "AD" in the diamond is the Silversmith Makers Mark . This one is for Alfred Hunhill & Sons, and this mark was used from 1936-2005

The Circled 925 is the Hallmark standard mark guaranteeing the silver content. The English silver standard is also 925/1000

The Upside Down Horseshoe in the broken circle is the Assayers Mark indicating the town the silver was assayed or proofed. This mark is for London and this particular mark was used from 1906-1998.

Last the letter "Y" in the Square with angled corners is the Date Mark This one is for the year 1998.

So giving this information, your Knife was made no earlier than 1998.

I've got some older reference, but most I have are from about 20 years ago. Now I use a couple of sites online. Here are a couple that have good info, but you have to get used to the navigation. But helpful.

But my dad was in the Army, 1 brother in the Navy, 1 brother in the Air Force, and an uncle in the Marine's. I'm so confused.

Sorry but the English silver is .900. USA sterling is .925. coin silver is .900, is is sometimes found on silverware or serving pieces or large 18 size pocket watch cases. bullion is .999 fine as nothing is 100%. There is Alfred Dunhill & Son's.
