Looks like a fake to me--what about you other collectors?? Master blade stamp looks smudged, the letters are touching each other, all the letters look the same( no period after Co.)--near mint knife--no etching?? Definetely is not new york knife bone. No pattern # on back of Master?? Here is the link--check it out

I puzzled over that one for quite a while, but couldn't quite figure out what was bothering me. Now I think I can put it into words. Mainly two things, first, the jigging on that bone doesn't really look like NYK jigging. Their jigging is very distinctive and this isn't it. It may be that they changed their jigging at some time or another and I could be completely wrong, but I can't really remember seeing too many NYK knives without their distinctive jigging. Second, the New York Knife Co. stamping is on the master blade and the Hammer Brand is on the secondary. On the other examples of NYK knives I have seen (admittedly limited) it's always the other way around.
It wasn't really these two things that originally bothered me, it was the general look of the knife, however, these two things are symptoms of what I see on the knife that gives me pause.

Wow!!! All I could say--You hit the nail on the head. You are sure right with the arm & hammer logo being on the master blade and new york knife on the secondary blade, that is the way I always see them too. Thx 4 confirming

Re: NEW YORK KNIFE Co. on EBAY~~QUESTIONABLE????
i emailed ebayer. now look at the bottom of hia auction site. ebt his high bidder is goin nuts???
they always say the same thing. "they hit the wrong button on the save question feature"
all i said to this guy was "hello sire.this knife is a fake.its up to ou to do what you feel good doing" "iI ALSO STATED THE
FACTS ABOUT A REAL KNIFE" aand then said
"u wont hear from me anymore"
anytime i list the facts of a real knife they never post the wuestion.but alot of
these scammers think i probably put ebay on them which I DONT ebay rule NUMBER1 dont draw attention to yourself by ebay.
ANYWAY-
he mailed me back with the also same line "im selling it for somebody else"
im gonna look at the rest of his pieces.
see if hes trying to pull off fakes or just a really bad customizer.ha!
"i looked at about 10 ny hammers an hour ago and all are like i desribed"

The fact that the tangs are shaved so heavily that there are no shoulders left should be reason enough not to waste time looking for other problems.
