There is something about cattle knives that are very appealing to me. Steve you have an outstanding example of the breed.

Thanks QS.
It's a beefy one. A "jeans only" size at 4-1/4".
edit to add: just noticed the pun

Today, the extra carry is just this little penknife.

Got the antique bones 80 foot up on the silo. I was feeling a little antique by the time I got up here too!

I don't tote Bucks much these days but here are two, each with 440C or 425M (I don't know one from the other) & Delrin. I bought the #309 Companion in 1974 or '75 at the local gunshop. My father left me two #313 Muskrats. This one, with the number on the pile side, must have been his first:

And uh, that fork? I honestly don't even see how it gets it done. Looks like something that comes in a carving set--not what you'd eat with. But this thing's what, over 100 years old?

Camillus 99 Camper in Cabone, and an R. Murphy Yachtsman (made in Sheffield England--is a cheapened version of the Captain Currey Lockspike Bosun). The R. Murphy is a little knife that gets the job done, despite only being 3 1/4" long. All tools on the Camillus got used, as well as both tools on the R. Murphy. The locking marlinspike on the R. Murphy really makes dealing with tough knots a breeze. And, unlike the old Canadian Navy Knife by Case, I don't need a sheath and a belt. It carries just fine, even in these lightweight shorts, even in the same pocket with the Camillus.

Cody it is over a hundred by a couple years. Made around 1918 according to our Charlie who knows his Robeson's. Little rough around the edges on the blade but the wood handles are sweet. Thanks Cody!cody6268 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 12, 2020 12:58 amA lot more classy than the cheap Coghlan's I carried in Boy Scouts!woodwalker wrote: ↑Thu Jun 11, 2020 10:31 pm In the middle of a move. I can't argue with that. You guys certainly know how to mix and match 'em!
Going with this Marble's again. The Jay feather I picked up at Antietam National Cemetery, resting place for those who fought in the Battle of Antietam during the Civil War.
Death knows no sides, it plays no favorites.
