Beach find. Divers Knife?

Post by Old Folder »

Close to 2 months of having the Beaches closed in California, they have finally reopened with little restrictions.
As my wife and I were walking along one of our favorite seldom used beaches, Anna stopped and pointed to the beach below a cliff, she asked me if there was a 'Divers Knife' protruding from the sand. Her eyesight is much better than mine, as we made our way down to the sand and got closer to her find, I realized that the 'Divers Knife' was not what I had hoped it to be.
Unfortunately, it was just a low quality 7" kitchen knife that has been drifting for who knows how long. No makers name, pressed plastic handles.

Lol. Too bad it wasn’t a nice Randall model 16.

When I see people walking barefoot in the sand it makes me cringe.

Yup.

But even with sneakers on, if that blade was buried just right, it would still make a nasty puncture in the foot. Even worse if the person was jogging or running along the beach.
Take care and God bless,

Looks like something Frost sells on late night TV.Notice the quality heat treatment of the blade.

Here's my U.S. DIVERS knife.
"AQUASHARP"

Found it snorkeling in my Messer Hohle ::tu::

Great for the bathtub, wooden handle so it floats,
just like my Rubber Ducky ::woot::

Nice find, Dan. I like that partially serrated edge and who says stainless won't rust? 🤭

If that was anywhere near the Ventura pier, I can tell you that more than one cheap knife being used to cut bait has been snatched by a dive bombing seagull and carried away to be dropped fifty yards later. Imagine taking a nice leisurely walk along the pier when suddenly Ginzu knives start raining out of the sky... ::oh_my::
