My latest Schrade

This arrived today. The first two pictures are of a 1992 SCHRADE+, single drop point (etched) blade, zytel handles, lockback pocket knife. Schrade was one of the sponsors of the NASCAR #33, SKOAL BANDIT race car. The driver was Harry Gant. Except for some minor yellowing to the plastic container, this item is in MINT condition.

I picked up these two last week. The top one a Stainless Shield Schrade U.S.A. SS825 with the "Razor Blade Stainless" marked blade. Blades have good snap, not great or hard, but good. Will go into my EDC roatation.
The lower one is a Schrade Walden N.Y. USA two blade fruit knife. 4-1/2 in closed with 3-1/2 inch Spear point blade and 2 inch pen blade. The cracked ice handles have a stamping part of it I can't make out, but appears to be 1964 SW-ROV DISPLAY AWARD. It appears someone tried to obscure the SW ROV. Both blades on this one have great snap.

Just pulled the trigger on another Schrade Cut Co SFO for E. Weck. Schrade would have called it a 8653T Sha. This is my first 3" "Sunfish Lobster" and also my first bone-handled Schrade Cut Co knife. Sweet!

Seems these newer Schrades don't get much attention, but they are great knives. I have a bit bigger model (the SP3) as an EDC. I'm gonna have to add one of those to my collection. My Granddad has the Richard Petty knife from the NASCAR series Case did based on the Mini Blackhorn, and I guess, Schrade was trying to get on the same bandwagon (Gerber and Camillus/Remington also did racing-related knives at this time).

This has been here for a week, and I forgot to post it.

A 55OT Bruin EXT I could tell was a user, but worse than I thought. Bolsters are banged up (I am suspecting someone tried to tighten the pin and did it wrong; but is the 55OT Swinden? I know the 5OT is not) and the blade not only has wobble in the side-to-side position, but also up and down. Good thing is that I only paid $20 for it.

Thus, I am having it redone. What do y'all think of a dark green (or dark red, I haven't decided) micarta matching the original Delrin? As far as bolsters. Brass as on the original I am slowly warming up to. I think with a darker handle material, it just makes sense. But, nickel silver seems to be what is mostly done, so I'm sticking with that.

I'd think about having it redone in smooth green bone with the original shield and brass bolsters. YMMV, of course. If you're married to micarta, however, I think it could be made to honor the spirit of the OTG line in general, judging by a fixed-blade I've had for a while...

61 OT just in from Second Life Knives. If you haven't checked them out, check them out. The prices are right. So are the bones he puts on these babies. Even better in person than his or my pics. You get the idea. The whittler is Schrade Cut Co. The snap and action is incredible and the lock up is zero movement wobbleless. And the bones, mmmmmmmmmmmmnnnnnnnnnn.

Here is a recent addition to my collection - It's a 834Y in Tube - person from which I purchased the knife said it has never been out of tube - It looks like sealed from factory and I'm sticking to the story - I have a lot of Schrades in the tubes but this is only one sealed -- Clint

It is a Camillus made after the Imperial Schrade bankruptcy in 2004.

This morning I couldn't resist temptation and grabbed a Schrade SFO with some great Canadian content. One of these had been on my wish-list for many years. It commemorates the 1999 Calgary Stampede (which is a big, yearly rodeo/festival).

It's a 8" total length PH-1-type (stamped LTD) fixed blade with toasted Sambar stag handles and a gold-filled etch on the blade. It's coming to me from Philadelphia so it's likely the third time this knife has crossed the border in search of a home.

I already have a Schrade-I*XL "Mountain Man" commemorating Alberta's 1980 Diamond Jubilee and this will pair with it well. Here are some pics of both. Sellers pics of my new knife are really washed out and pixelated but it looks to be in great condition. I'm thinkin' it will look great when I get it.
