I was just paging through a Barlows thread where you had that Scbrade-Wolstenholm number mixed in with your "bottomfeeders" and all I could do was sing "One of these things is not like the others..." I have two of those and they are definitely top shelf.

Thanks Tsar but I have to decline the title. About 8 years ago I might have had a mild claim to be a Sultan of S&M. However I disposed of about 90% of all my collections wishing to make distribution while still on the planet thereby forestalling arguments. But as Mark Twain said, "If I had known I was going to live this long, I would have taken better care of myself."

What is my favorite? Today? When working? Camping? Dinner party?
Working in shipping and receiving a knife capable of cutting 2" nylon strapping is mandatory. Keeping an edge that will cut mailing tape and packing slips is also necessary. The grip is large enough to hold tight.

Benchmade Barrage #581. The M390 blade is difficult to sharpen but once sharp it stays that way.

Next is a slimmer one piece billet Titanium anodized light purple from Lionsteel. The Elmax blade is very hard but has a smooth structure more suitable for a razor than a knife. The knife is carried because it feels so good in the hand and looks good too. Too slim for hard cutting it is great for string and cardboard.

Lionsteel T-Spine. Polished Titanium has a feel like no other.

Benchmade Valet. First knife with Damasteel and wow. My first Valet was M390 but very much to my surprise the Damasteel is better in every respect. This is also a nice looking knife with dark purple scales and the Damasteel blade. The small handle is textured rough for a good grip but care is needed if used for large tasks. The pivot is still far stronger than my hand.

Benchmade Gold Edition Valet. I used the pandemic money to gift myself this.

One of these three is with me every day, usually the T-Spine since retirement. So comfortable and still overkill for any tasks I run across lately.

Here you go John and thanks for asking. The tang reads, National Blades, New Jersy/USA. You will note the marlinspike has a lock and it came with a nice leather sheath. This is a quality tool for a sailor.
