Case kick start

Post by Bowhatchie »

I just purchased a case kick start...have not owned one prior....my question....the back spring..seens to always be somewhat depressed....never coming up equal to the back of the knife....both in blade extended or blade at rest in handle... it fires fine..but this does not seem right to me....a lot of dirt and grime would get down in handle I would think....is this correct position??
Thanks for any advise...

You may get an answer here in the next few minutes, or maybe not for days or weeks. Maybe never. Unless some other members have the same pattern to compare and advise, a call or email with pictures sent to Case should be an easy and quick way to get your answer. Otherwise if you have a nearby Case dealer maybe make a trip there to confirm for yourself. JMO.

It’s not that no one wants to help - if I had one I’d be glad to tell you. But I don’t, so I don’t know. It’s a fairly new pattern.

Here's what mine looks like. Since the spring actually propels the blade open, you're not going to have the same fit and finish as a traditional trapper when the blade is in the closed position. When the blade is in the open position it's even more noticeable. Hope this helps! ::nod::

They need to do something with the pocket clip. It's almost like it was an afterthought on this particular knife. Love the knife, works great, hate the clip.

You can’t put the same screws it came with back in it? ::shrug::

I think the screw heads would be as bad as the clip. Plus, it's tip down. Wish they made it without the clip at all. Really like the knife otherwise. Functions as easily as all the Kershaw assisted stuff. Never satisfied. ::dang::
