Mailman came bearing 18's. I'm not a collector (yet) so this is a big photo for me. I'm keeping the antique smooth bone. The rest are Birthday presents for my sons.

My new Red Trout knife arrived today. Blue rope jigged. Love this handle material. I think these are even better than last years.

Thanks Garry, I bought it site unseen, as did most everyone else that bought one. I didn’t have any doubts about what I was getting, knowing Eric and his work.Quick Steel wrote: ↑Sun May 31, 2020 12:38 am What a good looking knife; and the jigging is over the top.![]()
Here is a picture of a Schrade that Eric completed when he was at Schrade. I believe he said this is the same handle material that was used on this Schrade. This is one of the last knives that Schrade produced when they stopped making knives in the USA. You can see the similarities.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it. Eric does great work.
I am surprised they don’t make this handle material any more. It’s really stunning.

~Q~ was kind enough to let this Mini-Trapper move to the mainland. Today's mail saw it land safely in it's new home. Many thanks ~Q~. It's different and I like different. I love it.

That is nice Jerry. I haven’t seen that jigging and coloring.
Here are a couple of A.G. Russell’s I got in today. This big lockback has a very aggressive looking blade. The blade is 154CM.
The toothpick is jigged red dear stag bone. The blade is different than most toothpicks. I really like where the nail nick is on this blade, it makes it so easy to open this blade.

Very nice pieces Mark! I saw the A.G.R. yesterday in the pic you sent, but I hadn't seen the toothpick, and although I've never been a fan of that style knife, yours has a different than usual blade profile, and I find it quite intriguing! Congrats on the new acquisitions!

Thanks Mark, I hadn’t seen this one either, even though it’s been around awhile. It really caught my eye. Had a devil of a time determining the handle material. Luckily the Cutting Edge had some in the sold listings to compare it to.

Yes, I just read the description again, and that really is some nice stag bone, and, I hadn't even noticed where the nail-nic is situated, it's in the perfect spot, wish more builders would do that!

Re: Mail Call !-Post your new pick-ups here............
Today, my morning trip to the post office produced these 4 knives. First 2 pictures are of an unbranded, "deer head" handle, single blade, 4 tools, scouting/camping style pocket knife. The tang stamp says "ROSTFREI." I know what it means. Pictures #3 & #4 are of a GEO SCHRADE, single blade, wire handle pocket knife. This wire jack has two tang stamps. Pictures #5 & #6 are of a CAMILLUS 72, 3 blade, long line, "whittler" pocket knife. The last 2 pictures are of another CAMILLUS 72, 3 blade, long line, "whittler" pocket knife. The GEO SCHRADE wire jack needed no cleaning at all. The other 3 knives required some degree of cleaning and received it. Pictures were taken and here are the knives.
