Fake Winchester????

Post by texx39 »

It kinda makes me nervous to bring a knife into question because the seller could be a member here and I dont want to offend anyone but, this one looks a little fishy to me.
3 things seem wrong
A) the jigging doesnt seem to be the typical old Winchester style
B) I have never seen one with a bail
C) Knife body is not quite right

Ya'll let me know what ya think and I hope the link came through

The knife looks OK to me the jigging looks right the bail could be easily added they have a
hole in the bolsters and the frame looks right. It looks like a used 1920 to me.

Unfortunately I dont own one of these to compare it to,,,,The bail doesnt bother me (because they were drilled and as you say it could have easily been added) as much as the jigging. I have seen a few color pics of originals and they didnt have the precise directional jigging that this one has.

And,,,,,there is the possibility that I am just LOCO.
