camillus #72

The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

Well Mr. Tongueincheek, you might find Camillus 72 knives mildly interesting. Certainly nothing fancy on this one but the price. Got a 9494 coming you somehow missed Skip. If ups cooperates. Got a 72 coming that I'm really excited about but don't want to say much until it is in hand. Skip I think you and you too Jerry will like it. Thanks. ::nod:: ::handshake::

Hi Skip,

Camillus 72's and their "clones" are a swell-center whittler knife pattern that seem to be popular among some collectors. ::handshake:: Check them out, you may like them. ::shrug:: ::super_happy::

I acquired this knife earlier this evening. It's a CAMILLUS 72, 3 blade, bone handles, short line, "whittler" pocket knife. It looks good, but when I receive it I'll check it over. Pictures will be taken and posted in the appropriate location(s).

Glad you got that one Skip. It looks to be in great shape. I tried for that first generation that was in such good shape but missed it. I was hoping you got it.

Thank you Floyd. ::handshake:: The first generation "72", I didn't try for it. It sold for $155 and that's insane. But, to each his own. ::shrug::

This morning I bought this knife for best offer. It's a CAMILLUS 72, 3 blade, long line, "whittler" pocket knife. Physically, it looks like it's in pretty good shape. The pin above the shield is not broken or missing. Cosmetically, the blades need cleaning. When it arrives, it'll get the once over. I will take pictures and post them in the appropriate location(s).

I just couldn't resist. I got this one for less than $9.00, not including shipping and working man's punishment fee. Another CAMILLUS 72, 3 blade, long line, "whittler" pocket knife. It looks like it's in nice shape. The blades look like they could use a little cleaning, maybe not. When it arrives, I'll check it out. Pictures will be taken and posted in the appropriate location(s).

I snagged this one yesterday. I couldn't resist the BIN price.
It's a bit nasty but the blades look full. I think it will clean up OK.....

OH.... BTW..... I saw a heavily worn Stanley on the bay yesterday. BUT... I recon the #72 folks have already found it. It is paired with another knife and already at a price that is more than I want to pay.
