I'm really drawn to that Case!
Thanks Ken. It was my uncle's knife (brother of my grandfather) and one of my favorites.

Ken, no that is not patina. It simply is not reflecting light well. The steel is 440; don't think it is C. Also, when I took it out yesterday the blade was well oiled and in wiping it off I no doubt smeared the blade a bit. But even with a completely dry blade it does not have high relectivity.

Toted and worked it pretty hard, It makes quick work of plastic mulch and dirt bags and will still shave arm air.

Been the same set for a while, but I tried my hand at making some "pocket protectors" for the carvers I've been using (and a few others). The front 3 are with me the bulk of the time.
The Buck 55 is the main EDC in my watch pocket, so no need, but the others are in there with keys etc, so I figured something minimal to cover them up was in order. Plus, kinda bored. LOL

There are certainly some fine knives showing up, but I especially like the looks of your Ulster.

Nice display of knives & they'll stay that way cuddled up in those things for the time they're in your pocket. I've found leather working to be rather enjoyable, especially when I have some spare time & am not in a hurry to finish a project by a birthday or something. It's even better when it compliments another interest, like pocket knives.

Another knife that belongs to a friend but I'm carrying for a spell. A Bulldog Brand Congress, about 3 5/8" with carbon, I reckon, & MOP. I kinda like it. The swell center it's leaning on is mine. A Queen #38P Small Balloon, also with carbon & MOP. Why not?
