MM, you already know what I think about that whittler. Handles, Damascus, everything. ::nod:: ::tu::
Paul douk douks have an appeal. Is it as functional as it appears? ::tu::

Inspired by Kevin's (woodwalker) choice of a Camillus EO to carry yesterday, I decided to give my usual EDC's a break. Instead, I will be giving these two Camillus knives some pocket time.
Very nice, Skip. I’m impressed.

Show of hands - how many PBR drinkers do we have here?

Ok - how many have no clue what PBR is? ::smirk::
PBR was definitely the beer of choice when I turned 19!

Doubt that I will use this Marbles ivory Trapper. But I thought I would keep it close at hand today.

The quality on the Cabela's knives is quite close to Rough Rider. A friend of mine gave me a roughly 3 1/2" one-hand-opener (presumably, back when Cabela's was doing the $5 sale on them, he picked up a bunch), and I thought it would be a POS, but it turned out to be quite good. It does need sharpening quite often, however.

Fit and finish are pretty good. Pretty sharp right out of the box.
I'm not hard on knives, being as I'm pretty much a desk jockey at work.
Opening envelopes and boxes, cutting the occasional binding strap.
That, and I usually swap out knives after a day or two in the pocket.
I'm pretty confident this one will hold up well.
Take care and God bless,

Overall, I like it. It does everything I ask it to do. This was a "sprint" run, with M390 steel. I like the red. There are no liners, so it is pretty light. The action isn't as "buttery" as a Paramilitary 2 (I don't own a regular PM 3 to compare it to). Additionally, I wonder about the long term design of the clip. The way it resides and is retained in a resin-based handle makes me wonder if that could ultimately break down and create non-repairable wear...that would affect clip retention. It was hard for me to get clear pictures; but, hopefully you get the idea. The retaining screw probably covers less than 1/3 of the clip "wire". Also the clip wire seats down in to the resin about 1/2 way. Just doesn't seem like there is a whole lot holding it on. I guess Spyderco would take care of it, if I had a problem. I like it enough to keep in the EDC rotation...but I like the heft and action of the PM2 better.

The Para 3 I like, as it reminds me a lot of the UKPK (which I had), except it locks (the UKPK was a slipjoint, but the spring tension and actual spring weren't substantial) and is a bit better steel than GIN-1.
