My latest acquisition, this Geo. Schrade, single blade, wire jack pocket knife. When I receive it, I'll give it the once over. It doesn't look like it needs much, if any, cleaning. I'll take some pictures and post them in the appropriate location(s).
Another one in nice shape. Good pickup Skip.
Thank you joeradza.

Looks better than I expected. Something about the lack of a finger guard gives it that stripped down to the bare essentials look. While it's nice to find the pristine examples with the color intact it's the users like that that shine. It shows off the beauty and simplicity of the design.

It looked better than I expected also. I like these wire jacks whether they have the guard or not. I prefer that it/they have one, but I won't bypass one because the guard is missing.

I just bought this wire handle trio. The fork was never a consideration, but I'll keep it. When I receive them, I'll give them the once over. I'll take some pictures and post them in the appropriate location(s). Here they are.

I received these today. My latest additions to my wire jack collection. The larger of them has two tang stamps. I didn't have that "style" of Geo. Schrade tang stamp prior to this knife. The short one has life left in it, even though it has some blade loss. However, I bought the lot (there was also a wire handle fork) for the large knife. I gave them both a cleaning, took some pictures and here they are.

This evening, this worn, but still having alot of character, Geo Schrade, single blade, wire jack pocket knife, joined my collection. When it arrives, it is definitely going to receive a cleaning. I'll take some pictures and post them in the appropriate location(s).

Hey Skip. You're a better man than me attempting to resurrect that one. I hope the photos were poor and it's in better shape than it looked.

I too hope that the photos weren't accurate, but I'm prepared for the worst. I'm not going to do any major cleaning with the spacer. I'm just going to try and remove the surface rust, if there is any. The handles and blade "should" clean-up okay.
Did you end up buying that knife from Gunsil (Gene)?

Not yet. He's been sick. He sent me an email that possibly this week. I apologize for going off on you. My only excuse is being in lockdown in a small one bedroom apartment with 3 people. Somedays are tough but overall we're good. Hoping you and yours are safe and healthy.

Not a problem. I really didn't mean to try and "horn-in" on your knife. I "misunderstood" your post and thought you were looking for a spear point, wire handle knife. Oh well, water under the bridge. It is a VERY nice lking knife, good for you.

The truth is we both probably have more duplicates than we need. I’d love to carry the large spear but it’s too rare on the off chance I lost it.
What method do you use to “clean” yours? The last one looks great.

Graphite for the rust and a very, very fine wet/dry sandpaper for the rest. I just try to get the knife back in "decent" shape. I try to avoid making contact with the spacer so as to not screw with the paint.

This knife arrived yesterday. Another Geo. Schrade, single blade, wire handle pocket knife. It needed a cleaning and I did what I could for it. I didn't touch the spacer. I took a few pictures and here it is. Sorry about the blurred pictures, my camera is failing.

It cleaned up real nice. Good job. How pitted is the blade near the stamp? Overall it should make for an excellent addition to the collection.
Thank you. The pitting, overall, isn't really that bad. It's more prevalent on the tang than on the blade. I still like it and am happy to have it in my collection.

My thanks to Gunsil for making this available. Thanks Gene.
A Schrade wirejack fish knife in nearly new condition outside of a few faint scratches on the pile side and some scratches on the finger guard.

These two knives will soon be joining my collection. A Geo Schrade, single blade, wire handle, hawkbill pruner pocket knife (the top 2 pictures). A Geo Schrade, single blade, wire handle, sheepsfoot pocket knife (the last 2 pictures). When they arrive, they will both get a good inspection and cleaned if necessary. Pictures will be taken and posted in the appropriate location(s).

I picked this off Ebay, and it came in the mail yesterday. I have seen the various knives and utensils, but I wanted to find the complete Boy Scout set with the leather pouch.
Geo Schrade fork & Knife with Boy Scout marked on the Pouch. The Knife and Fork are both 1942, and the Spoon is marked ALLEGHENNY STAINLESS STEEL with a "WB" over W. Both the knife and the fork have great snap and have a half stop.

I'll sharpen it for you, but I don't give out band-aids!!

Papa Bones, that is a VERY nice Boy Scout utensil kit. There are some others posted throughout this topic, but mainly in the beginning. You will also find a very nice assortment of wire handle knives. These bastards are addictive, but in a good way.
Here is a VERY good topic/thread regarding Scouting/Camping knives. Check it out. viewtopic.php?f=35&t=12874
